Mamoru smiled. "Let's hope so," he said kindly.

Harusuke also gave Usagi a pat on her shoulder to try and cheer her up. "Hear that, Sis? It seems like we're not the only ones who believe in them," he whispered.

Usagi stayed silent.

"Don't worry. We'll figure this out," went on Harusuke. "And if we run into them again, we'll think of something. Okay?"

The ordango blonde answered with a tiny nod without looking up as the group set off for home.

In the lab of the Death Busters, the three members of the Witches 5 were having a meeting.

"Good grief. First, Eudial, and now Mimete is dead," huffed Tellu. "I had a feeling that she would be the next to go. All that girl cared about was her silly reputation as a star."

"Well, we needn't worry about her anymore," said Viluy. "We need to stay focused on the task at hand, and that's finding the last talisman for the master."

"But who's going to take over now that Mimete's dead?" asked Cyprine. "Kaolinite's still in holed up with Master Pharoh 90 recovering, and Tomoe's off taking care of other business."

"Well, since no one else is coming up with any ideas, I might as well take the lead," said Viluy. "Besides, unlike Eudial and Mimete, I have a big plan to search for numerous people at once for pure heart crystals."

"Is that so?" said Cyrpine doubtfully.

"Sounds very interesting," said Tellu. "Would you care to explain what that plan is?"

Viluy clicked her tongue while wagging her finger. "Now, now. A brilliant strategist must never reveal her plans," she said. "And, I intend to make it a surprise for Magus Kaolinite. And if those Guardians try to interfere, I've got a secret weapon for dealing with them." She then changed into her Mugen uniform with a twirl of her heel. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to prepare. I have a feeling that we'll be meeting our enemies again soon. By the time it's over, the title of Magus is as good as mine."

It was raining the next day at Juuban Middle School. Usagi, Harusuke, Ami, and Makoto were in the classroom, watching and listening to the downpour.

"It sure is raining outside," said Ami.

"I'll say. It always pouring this time of the year," sighed Harusuke. "It's quite depressing."

"I'll say it is!" complained Usagi as she slumped at her desk, looking at a recent test score. "Midterms, protests, and finals. How's a girl supposed to be happy?!"

"Well, naturally, we're going to have a lot of tests, but they are necessary, Usagi," Ami spoke importantly. "After all, we're going to have High School Entrance exams soon."

"Don't remind me," Usagi grumped as she sadly plopped her head on her desk.

"Sorry, Sis, but those are the breaks," chuckled Harusuke.

"Anyway, that reminds me of something," said Ami. "Have any of you heard about the new prep school?"

"You mean the one that's over by Mugen?" wondered Makoto. "What about it?"

Ami then showed her friends a flier. "Yes. They'll allow any student to take mock exams there," she explained. "But there's one girl that always gets the top score on those exams. So they've scored even higher than me."
