Chapter 2 Closer to the end

Camila's view

"I mean seriously Lauren how fucked can he be...I mean it's one show compared to me working my ass off for this movie and it's the fucking ACADEMY AWARDS... it's not like it was shot on someone's iPhone, holy shit!" Camila half yells to her friend Lauren as the two sit in Camila's bed in her room in LA. "Like how am I supposed to act for real. Things have been so fucked lately...we always argue over the dumbest shit for days at a time, he acts like he doesn't even care anymore. It's been two years and I just feel like things have run their course. I mean when the shutdown happened and we finally had to slow down and breathe and we finally moved in together things were so great. We were normal people for once. We woke up, we'd make eggs, try to figure out how to use a kuereg, fuck, get some food and maybe smoke every once in a while...but now it's totally like who is this guy ya know?" Camila goes on..."Yeah girl I know, I really can't believe he is willing to miss the biggest day of your career because he has one show." Lauren agrees.

Camila gets up to grab her phone..."Let me just see where he is..." Camila says as she types a few buttons. "Let's see, what time is it? 5:30 here so it's 8:30 there, it says he's home so let's see if he answers." Camila says as she put the phone on speaker and heads back over to Lauren. The phone rings twice, suddenly Shawn's voice comes out of the phone. "Hey it's Shawn you've reached my-Dude!" Camila interrupts as she abruptly ends the call..."He just fucking sent me to voicemail!" She cries out. Laurens eyes are the size of quarters, she had no idea things were that bad that Shawn would just avoid her. "Well maybe he's sleeping?" She innocently offers up the excuse in Shawn's defense "Girl no because it would either keep ringing the whole time because he can't answer it or if it was on Do not disturb it would automatically go straight to voicemail, not ring twice and then go...that ass just sent me to voicemail."
