"What was that?" I ask, curious.
"I don't know. Maybe we should check it out."

When we walk out the door, we see Adeline angrier than the Hulk. She's screaming and kicking the ground, only to make a cloud of dust.

"SONWODBEOAHBFBDJVD!!!!"
"Adeline! Adeline! ADELINE BEATRICE PARKER, WHAT IS GOING ON?!"
"Oh. It's you two," she sneers at us.

"Oh, it's nice to see you too."
"I wish I could say the same but you were born on the freeway."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I say, angrily.
"That's where accidents happen," she rolls her eyes at me.
"You little son of a b-," before I can finish, Max breaks us up.

"Girls! Girls! Enough! Can you just talk and make up? This is all because Layla and I were getting off," he shouts.
I take a deep breath and step towards Adeline.
"Adeline, I'm sorry I got mad at you and I didn't care that you just got here and experienced what we experienced."
"And Layla, I'm sorry I got mad at you and I didn't care that you went through so many things."

"Good. Now, hug each other," Max commands. We both glare at him. I step closer to her and open my arms. She mirrors my action. We hug each other and I sigh.
"Best friends?" I ask.
"Best friends."

I smile at Addy and turn to see Max smirking.
"What?" I ask, giggling.
"I told you, you guys would make up."
"Well, good for you, Mr. Know-It-All," I say, teasing.
We stare at each other before I remember we're not alone.

"Are you guys done?" Addy asks impatiently.
"Yeah, we are. Okay. Why were you mad? Besides the fact that we argued."
"My phone barely has any battery left and I can't get any bars!" She says, frustrated. "There was also another explosion from the hole where we all crashed and a man approached me. He ran and I think he's hiding behind the store because you guys came."

"Wait, a man came? From the hole?!" I ask, nervously.
"Yeah. Why?"
"Addy, what if he had a gun?!"

"He wouldn't have a gun," Max clarifies.
"How would you know?" I ask, breathless.
"I know... because he's my best friend."
