Saving Belle

Chapter 45

Liam's POV: 

Belle had a really bad nightmare again last night. 

They were getting better for awhile. 

I was on the trundle in Xan's room while he was on the upper part with Belle in his arms. 

She was shaking. 

"I'm so tired of being scared..." She said while crying. 

"I know, I've got you." He said. 

The rest of the day she was jumpy and hardly talked. 

I don't know why Enzo didn't cancel with Ezra today. 

She was really not ok. 

Xan told me it was like when she first got here. 

"H..How did you do it?" She said when we were just watching TMNT. 

"How did I do what?" 

"Not be afraid.." 

"It took so much time, and it never fully goes away. There will be good days and bad days. I don't know everything you went through, but I know it wasn't good. What do you do when you're feeling scared to calm down?" 

"I find Xander for a hug, or drink tea." 

"That's really good that you could name them. I couldn't for a really long time. Something that helps me is to listen to some music, or to take some deep breaths and call someone I trust." 

"I just can't take it. It's too much. The memories are taking over my mind. I thought I was getting better. No one here knows what to do. They don't know how to help and I don't even know." 

"Belle we speak a language they cannot learn. They will have never gone through something like this. Ever. Nor should they, but they can't ever completely understand these things." 

She came and hugged me. 

She held on so tight. 

We just sat like that for like 15 minutes. 

"Hey Belle Ezra is here, are you ready?" 

She shook her head. 

"Would it help to have one of us there?"

She nodded.

Belle sat down and hardly looked at Ezra. 

"Alright Belle ready to get our math on?" 

She let her head just bang onto the table. 

I tried to communicate not to do math today. 

"Or we can do that another day. What subject would you like to learn about today?" 

"Nothing.." She said with her head still on the table. 

Eventually I went to get Enzo and he compromised and said she only had to do half an hour of work. 

Xan and I sat in there.

It made Ezra pretty nervous, but I think he understood. 

Xan accidentally made a sudden movement which made Ezra make on, still being scared of us. 

In turn scaring Belle. 

She stood up fast and fell backwards. 

"Shit I'm sorry Belle, I didn't mean to scare you." 

"I want to be done." 

"Ok you can be done." Xan said helping her up. 

Ezra was starting to panic. 

Belle and Xander left the room, but Ian came in with Luca. 

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to. I swear." 

He was abused too. 

Just by us. 

We were so cruel. 

How bad things must be for him to have him coming here. 

"It's ok. Why don't you take off for today.  I'm sure Enzo will pay you for the whole time." 

"He doesn't have to pay me. I'm sorry. It won't happen again, I'll be more careful." 

He quickly packed up his stuff and left. 

Elliot's POV: 

"Hey man what's up?" I said when Ezra called. 

"I scared her and now they'll be mad at me. What if they hurt me again Elliot? Luca and Xander still are at our school. They can make my life miserable again."

"Ezra slow down. What happened?" 

"I moved too fast and it scared her. She stood up fast, but fell. She looked so scared. I scared her." 

"It's ok, can you come over?" 

"What if Mason is home? What is they tell him?" 

"He won't do anything. I promise. Just come over." 

10 minutes later he was in my living room. 

"I have to quit. I can't go back. I can't." 

"Can you afford to do that? I mean you were working two jobs, sometimes 3, and hardly at school cause you had to work." 

"I know, but I can't go back to how it was last year." 

"You won't." 

"Oh hey Ezra. I don't think I've ever seen you here before. You guys are always at your place." Mason said walking in with my Mom. 

"We planned it for when you wouldn't be here." My Mom said. 

She was so angry when she found out what they were doing. 

She's always been so supportive about how Ezra didn't want to be around him. 

"Oh.." He said.
