"Hey, what's going on?" She asked them both

"Dustin won't let me-"

"She wants to be-"

"It's not fair-" They both started talking at the same time

"One at a time please" Astrid asked patiently. They both told her what was wrong, but before they could even work things out the doorbell rang and the two raced to open the door. "Saved by the bell" She sighed, before checking who was at the door too.

"Mom! Dad! Jacob! Come in. Come in." Astrid said

"Jacob! Come be the bad guy, that way me and Zeph can both be good guys!" Dustin said, and the both grabbed Jacob by his hands, and dragged him to where they were playing

"They were just arguing on who the good guy should be before you came" She explained to her parents, while closing the door

"You and Jacob were both like that when you were younger" Martha laughed

"Yeah, that's how it is when you've got two. One minute they're arguing and the next they're the best of friends" Barnaby said, before going to help Hiccup in the kitchen, leaving Astrid laughing awkwardly. Martha decided not to question why her daughter was acting strangely when they mentioned two kids

"Dad said he'd be running a bit late, but we could start ahead!" Hiccup called out form the kitchen. Astrid and Jacob set the table, and they all settled down to start their meal

"So, why did you two suddenly invite us all for dinner? Y'all got any news for us or something?" Jacob asked

"Uh, something like that yeah" Hiccup said, and just as Barnaby was about to ask what the news was, someone was knocking on the door, "I'll get it!" Hiccup said, quickly getting up to answer the door. "Hey Dad"

"Hello, something smells good!" Stoick said, as they both walked back to the table

"Lambchops, made by yours truly" Hiccup said, as he sat back down on his chair

"So, why are we all gathered here today?" Stoick asked, as he helped himself to some chops

"They have news for us apparently" Martha said, as she passed him the mashed potatoes

"Er, yeah" Hiccup said, quite unsure what to say

"Well, go on then" said Barnaby

"I'm pregnant" Astrid blurted out, before Hiccup could say anything, and there was dead silence on the table as they all processed what she had just said

"Oh great Thor! That's amazing!" Her Mother exclaimed, and rushed over to hug her

"How far along are you?" Barnaby asked, as he too went to hug his daughter

"About a month" Astrid replied, after all the hugs

"Holy Thor! You kept it from us for that long?" Stoick said

"Well, to be fair we both just found out yesterday" Hiccup replied, shrugging

They finished their meal, guessing what the child's gender would be and who would spoil it more, the Hofferson's or Stoick. They gathered in the backyard for smores and embarrassing stories from when Hiccup, Astrid, and Jacob were younger.

"An' before I could even react, they both just slipped off!" Barnaby laughed, as he was retelling the story on how they went to a waterpark once as a family and both Jacob and Astrid slipped off those floating donuts in the middle of a slide. Dustin and Zephyr found that extremely hilarious, and they were laughing so hard as they attempted to recreate that scene

"Okay! Enough of that. Let's hear something about Hiccup" Jacob said, trying to get the two to calm down

And that's how the rest of their night went, sharing funny/embarrassing stories by the fire, eating smores. There was no better feeling than being surround by those you love
