Character-driven vs. Plot driven. Basically these terms refer to the type of story you write.

A character driven novel is a work where the story revolves around the characters and their relationships with each other. The romance genre is a good example of this as the point of view often alternates between the two love interests.

A plot driven novel centers around the events of the story rather than the characters. An action adventure story is a good example of this.
