"Hey also do you mind calling the police. I found this kid and I couldn't find his mom. He said she just left him." I said pointing my thumb over my shoulder at Aiden.
"Oh yeah no problem. Here's your card." She said. She grabbed the phone dialing 911.
"There's this lost boy here at target, and this shopper found him."
"Yes the one in Beacon."
"Okay thank you so much." She said hanging up the phone.
"The cop said that there would be an officer here in a little bit."
"Okay that you so much."
"Yea."
I turned around and grabbed the cart.
"There will be a cop here in a little bit." I whispered to Elvira so Aiden wouldn't hear because he seems to know everything.
She nodded walking back to her empty cart.
I pushed mine out of the way so we were off to the side away from the other people checking out.
Elvira walked over and put her cart away.
Elvira walked over and stood by us waiting for the cop.
The doors of the store opened and the cop came in.
He looked around for use and I walked up to him. I noticed that it was my good friend Mike.
"Hey Mike how you doing."
"I'm great how about you."
"I'm doing fine, just here with my fiancé when this little guy walked up to me." I said walking over to Elvira and Aiden.
"Hey little man what's you name?"
Aiden look at me almost asking if it was safe to tell. I nodded assuring him that it was safe. But he still didn't tell Mike.
"His name is Aiden." I said.
Elvira looked at me shocked for some reason.
"What's that look for?" I asked.
"He wouldn't say a word to me." She said.
"Oh."
"Well Aiden, do you know what your last name is?" Mike asked.
Aiden just sat their staring at me.
Hmm what should I do? He needs to talk.
I walked over to him.
"Hey Bub, I'm going to pick you up." I said.
He nodded.
I lifted him up into my arms and put my arm under his butt and then he held into my shoulder.
"Aiden do you know what your last name is?" I said.
"R." He said quietly so I could only hear.
"Aiden R." I said so Mike could hear.
Mikes eyes widened.
"Dominico I need to talk to you. Privately."
"Ok, hey Aiden I'm going to give you to Elvira. Ok?"
He shook his head. "She won't hurt you. If she does I'll hurt her for you." I whispered.
He nodded. I handed him to Elvira and he stayed distant from her but he didn't didn't fuss.
I walked over to Mike.
"Dominico, Aiden is a missing kid."
"What?"
