Chapter 22

They were frozen. The daydreams of taking down all for one seemed so impossible as they were face to face with him along side a creation using the extent of his power.

The magic was practically dripping off of it, it stood on four legs and probably fifty feet tall.

(Y/n)s heart pounded in fear, she had taken down plenty of monsters before, but nothing like this. She didn't have time to process anything before it ran towards her.

"Get Bakugou and Kirishima out here now"

She had no choice but to charge at it in a desperate attempt to protect Midoriya. She had to protect him, the though raced throughout her head. She had to protect him, make sure he didn't get hurt, he was the most important person to her, it was him that she cared for.

Midoriya didn't argue, how could he. As he ran through the hallways he cursed himself. He had a sword, he knew how to fight, why couldn't he. He had to be protected.

The sight of Midoriya sweaty and panicked paired with the crashing that came from outside told the royal pair enough to sprint outside. Their excitement temporarily halted at the sight of one of the most respected warriors knocked to the ground, exhausted after throwing herself at whatever it was over and over again.

She was successful in buying time but at the cost of almost all of her energy.

The three of them fought side by side, Kirishima transformed into a dragon while Bakugou launched sword first at the beast.
(Y/n) follows suit and takes a slash at its heel, its weight gives but it uses its other front claw to shove them all back.

They hit the wall with a thud, small cracks surrounding their impact point. Both Bakugous and (Y/n)s sword clattered on the ground.

She picks up her sword and throws Bakugous back at him. She gives him a look that could say a thousand words. How this was it, this is where it was time to prove they were hero's, how it was on this battle ground where they would fight until the very end.

They looked back at the beast and charged at it, determination filled their eyes.

After countless attempts they were out of breath, beaten, bloodied, and bruised, but unrelenting. The three continued to combo attacks off of each other, and it seemed to be working.

Though it kept healing itself the beast was a little bit slower than when they had started fighting, magic wasn't pooling around the beast in as high of frequency as before. So they kept fighting, Bakugou got cocky and smirked at All for one.

Out of breath, he taunted him.

"Looks like you're losing, your stupid monster is getting weaker and we're still standing"

And just like how nightmares would be fueled, he responded to the prince with an all knowing tone.

"Oh I don't think I'm losing, more like my beast is"

Before the three of them could charge at him to wipe his smug attitude away, (Y/n) thought about the specific wording of what he had said. A look of horror washed over her face and a chuckle from all for one confirmed her fears.

She looked over at the other two who also must have realized his implications.

"Keep fighting, I'll go."

This might have been the first time either of them heard her voice but they were going to make damn sure it wasn't their last. Bakugou responded, still having his ego on full display.

"Great, now we don't have to hold back anymore"

Kirishima grinned back at him and the two of them once again threw themselves at the beast, but (Y/n) would never get to see it as she was sprinting through the halls, desperately trying to locate him.

*earlier*

Midoriya slammed the door open, out of breath and with the same panicked look as before.

"He's here"

That was all he needed to say to make all of them understand. A panic spread through the six who weren't fighting.

Inko spoke up.

"We need to evacuate the citizens into safer places"

In a rare moment in agreement Enji spoke up

"I can go to my kingdom and order my people to go into bunkers, there should be enough room for about 40000 extra people if any of you need it"

Inko nodded,

"We have safety shelters too but I'll keep that in mind"

"Me too"

"Yaoyarozu and I can assemble the Navy and help you transfer any extra civilians who don't have room in the shelters if you would like"

"That would be most appreciated"

The conversation was rushed but compact as they all tried to get a word in. Unfortunately this meant Midoriya did not get to say anything.

At the end it was decided that they would split up, Mitsuki and Inko going to her kingdom to inform them of what was happening after the Inko sends notices to all citizens to evacuate to the designated shelters, Momo and Todoroki going along the coast to find any people who couldn't make it in time to get a spot in the bunkers along the coast as would be instructed, and Enji going to inform his own kingdom with the same notice of evacuation.

Midoriya wasn't assigned a role, but before he could ask what his task was the six of them were startled by a loud thud in the hallway outside of them.

Hey, so sorry I just realized I forgot to ask a question the other day, so you guys get two today!
What temperature outside do you consider wearing a winter coat for, and what's your favorite animal.
Since I'm from Michigan I feel the only acceptable weather to wear a winter coat in is below fifteen degrees, and my favorite animal is an axolotl.
