Why wouldn't he, he probably thinks you uncovered a secret of theirs. That you know more than the others. Which you do, but he can't confirm that quite yet.

Then there was Reiner who was very happy to see you, he obviously had already forgotten about the previous conversation. He smiled, "(N/N), how you doing-"

"-I heard the sound of clapping and currently want to unalive myself."

"What?" asked Bert who was still sweating beads but not as much as before. Although he must've felt relieved to the lack of questioning from his conversation with Reiner.

"Use your imagination," you replied. Reiner then scrunched his nose and furrowed his brows in confusion. He raised his big hands and started clapping although his confused expression never left his face. You turned to Bert and noticed that he, unlike his friend, understood what that meant and as a result there was hint of pink on his face.

Pointing at the tallest you commented, "see now Bert gets it, traumatizing really. Didn't see it but totally heard it."

It was at this point in the conversation that mainly consisted of you and Bert now. His posture shrunk as he pulled his hands to cover his face, "I heard rumors of what has been happening in the shed or supply closets."

"There were rumors of people clapping in-! Why wasn't I aware of this I-Who is even clapping-"

"Please stop saying clapping, it's gross," he cried out.

"I'm not saying the word seggs, that's even grosser," you replied while flailing your arms. The giant shook his head violently at what you were saying. "Who, who is.. Who is doing it? We're like 14, they should worry about not being sent to the fields not-not that. Like good for them but like-why?"

"Wait, guys what are you talking about?" Reiner pulled the two of you close to him, both of his arms over you and the giant. It was like having a little secret meeting, except it's just him trying to get into the conversation. "Can you explain what's going on? I don't like being left out of this, I'm confused."

Placing a small hand over the blond's bigger hand you said, "Reiner, honey, babe, darling, the man that has massive boobas, in the tool shed there is a bee stinging the fuck out of a bird. If you don't get that then you are on your own."

"What?"

"Oh, my-dude. I thought you'd be the person who'd know this kind of stuff, but like, I guess not."

"(Y/n), I don't know what you two are talking about."

"Bert, I just want you to know that your best friend is surprisingly really dumb."

"Yeah, I'm aware."

"What?"

Here you sat. In the dining hall like always, waiting for the room to be filled with faces some familiar and some you could barely recognize. It has been three days since you went to get Connie's shoe, which was not even a shoe. It was actually one of his boots from the uniform. Not that it matters because you never got it and it was actually stolen by some random cadet. Although to be fair everyone that did hear what was happening in there never had the guts to do anything or even tell any of the instructors. Everyone was just quiet. Maybe a little traumatized with the noises, you know you are.

However, you kind of wanted to figure out who it was. Just keep the information to yourself as a way to blackmail or to have some sort of power over someone. Somewhat like your knowledge of the titan shifters. Except they don't know you know, and you are afraid that one of them may try to snap your neck in your sleep.

But they love you so they won't do that.

Probably.

At the moment you looked at every cadet that entered the dining hall, or more specifically their boots. It was only lunchtime so many were still in their uniform, and those who didn't were most likely 3rd-year cadets. They tend to have a little more freedom than everyone else. Only a little though, well, mainly if they were top ten.
