In the choir room,Mari ignored what Mr.Schue was saying like always. Something about salt water taffy
and whining about Coach Sylvester.

She was busy painting Brittany's nails a nude color.

"You have to let me borrow those boots and headband." Brittany whispered.

"I need to borrow that skirt." Santana whispered."Also holy shit you forgot to cover up that love bite on your neck." Santana snickered and fixed Mari's hair."Better."

"Ladies play attention!" Mr.Schue said."Also Mari..I told you no nail polish in class."

Mari shoved the nail polish bottle in her purse."did y'all know Artie, Tina, Brittany and Mike
are on the Brainiacs? None of you showed up besides Archie,Sam  and me.."

Artie,Tina,Mike and Brittany smiled at the Applegate teenager,Archie and Sam.

"They were on Smarty Pants Show...and beat Carmel High to go to the Academic
Decathlon finals in Detroit next week." Archie said."Before any of you ask,they told y'all."

"Also they forfeit because they can't afford to go to finals." Sam said,frowning."We took them to Stix and played laser tag to cheer them up. Britt's a pro at it."

It was finally time for the benefit concert. Mari was currently behind the curtains in the auditorium.

She listened to Mercedes sing Ain't No Way by Aretha Franklin.

"Don't cry." Rachel said,applying a glossy lip gloss to Mari's lips."You look stunning as always."

"Thank you Berry." Mari said,smiling.

"Forget about Coach Sylvester's plan..do not let her and the others ruin it for New Directions." Mari thought.

Rachel had actually voted for Mari to close out the benefit. The Applegate teenager was excited but also happy. She didn't have the killer vocals like Berry,Tina,San and Cedes.

"Hey dreamer,your up!" A voice said.

Mari saw Mercedes and Rachel looking at her.

"Uh right." Mari said."Berry,talk to Cedes.. bye!"

Mari walked on the stage and the lights went dim.
She blew air kisses to Sam,Santana and the others.

The band started playing and Mari began to sing.
