"sir, i know you love him dearly but you need to think of both sides. we cant keep him like this for months and months. he's using up a hospital bed." the doctor frowned.

"you cant be serious. it's only been, what, 3 months?!"

"i know you're blinded by your selfishness, but-"

"my selfishness?! you must be joking. you cannot give up on him!"

"please, calm down. you need to be more open-minded. just think about another family who can't bring their child into hospital because a hospital bed is used up for someone who won't wake up."

"he will wake up!"

and with that, thomas stormed out of the room, angry tears rolling down his face. he was nearly jogging as he walked down the corridor, head down. he swore to himself as he knocked into someone.

"oh, thomas! hey! we were just coming to see newt."

thomas raised his head. "sorry, shit, sorry." he spluttered, his voice cracking.

minho frowned. "what's wrong?"

the brunett shook his head aggressively as he choked on a sob.

"hey, hey, come here."

and that's how he was enveloped into a hug in the middle of a hospital by someone who never showed much emotion.
