Conner POV
Stupid Ares kid. Whatever, she's alive. After another two days of driving we end up close to the border of Wisconsin.
We had one other run in with monsters. Cyclopes, to be specific. Three of 'em. We crossed the border. Then, a shriek sounded. Percy pulled into an empty gas station. We all got out taking out weapons. Evaya was no where. Then, a shriek again, we looked up and saw Evaya was flying and dodging rapidly a very big eagle. "Zeus," Percy muttered, "He doesn't like her," the eagle was much bigger than a regular eagle. It almost snapped her wings. She sent a streak of sunlight across its eyes. It made an angry sound. She swept down towards us. "The Lord of the sky has a very big problem with me or with my father apparently," she said. She told Annabeth instructions to the building, "you guys go, I'll catch up. Besides, if I'm constantly being chased down, I'll slow us down," she told us. We got into the car and drove. Finally, we got to Waukesha. The building almost looked harmless, except for the fact monsters swarmed it. Mainly snake monsters. "How are we going to get pass them?" I ask. "Shhhh! I'm thinking!" Mark and Annabeth snap at the same time. Pfft. War gods kids. I saw a patch of sunlight.
"Guys," I said.
"SHHHH!" The practically shouted.
"Would you jus- "
"CONNOR SHUT UP!
"I THINK THATS EVAYAS MAGIC!" I shout.
There heads turn toward the sunlight, Percy ends up pulling into a parking lot to a bike trail. Evaya dives down from the sky, scaring the hades out of Mark. She had some claw marks on her right arm but looked fine. "Alright, so, Percy, Annabeth, I want you to get Will. Mark, Connor, you will help me fight them," she says with authority in her voice.
The sun goes down, darkness comes. We pull out our weapons. Evaya hands Annabeth a test tube of glowing yellow light. "Once you and Percy get Will, Sun travel out of there. Throw the tube down, a portal will spring, state who's going in and where you want to go," she explains. "What about you guys?" Percy asks. She smiles a little sadly, "if we're alive, I'll sun travel us out. This lights only good until dawn. Everyone ready?" She asks. We nod. "Alright, let's go," she says. We creep towards the building. Annabeth and Percy behind, they'll enter when we've got the monsters attention.
