Connor POV
I woke up and woke everyone else. Evaya was already up when I knocked on the girls door. Soon we got back in the van with her flying ahead. It was early morning light glinting off her wings. It was a little foggy. Evaya singled for us to stop. We pulled over into the parking lot of a hardware store. We all got out. "What is it?" Percy asked. Her face paled, "We, are going to have company," she said. Percy pulled out his sword, Mark his spear and shield which turned into a glove. I unsheathed my sword when she put her hands out. "You, Percy, Annabeth, Connor, keep going, ditch the van and get a new car. Mark, help me fight them off," she instructed. Percy started to protest but she cut him off. We drove really fast, I heard a war cry come up from Mark and Evaya. They were fighting, and we were driving. Honestly, I was a little hurt she didn't choose me to stay and fight. I mean, I'm descent. I heard an explosion and saw a huge flash of sunlight. I understood she thought she needed Marks strength and experience. He was good with a spear. She's alive, I remind myself.
