He knows how much you loved him and often, he feels incredibly undeserving of everything you do for him.

Who was he but a wounded man?

But you've loved him just the same. You loved him more when he was struggling to break free from your arms, knowing that is exactly when he needed you most. You gave him more love when you saw him fighting the doubts that the great Katsuki Bakugo will never tell anyone. Not even you. But you'd know, you always hear the words he never said but is wanting to yell out.

He was an angry first year but eventually this burning anger in his heart would slowly die down because  you were gentle with him. He was wounded by his own hands, by his own expectations of himself, and by the expectations he receives from the public. He was like a wounded animal, growling and attacking anyone who dares approach but you took your time with him, didn't you? You stayed by his side until he was the one who sought your comfort and warmth.

He knew that you were too good for him and didn't need people to remind him. Though they constantly do after he hurts you when you fight, after he makes you cry with his words that he unconsciously let out to hurt you. But you constantly stood by him, promising that you will be the person who will never give up on him.

He cried to you when you first said these words to him, after he wanted to push you away. He told you to be with Kirishima instead, whose platonic love for you will never hurt. He pushed you to go to Todoroki, whose gentleness may be just what you need. But you fought his inner demons, pulling them off the insecure first year that he was then.

He never dared to push you away after you have proven your love and loyalty to him after his explosive bout. Bakugo wounded you but you focused on his own scars. You tended to his worries, sometimes hitting him with the harsh truth that the only enemy he really had was himself.

Bakugo learned to open himself up to other people, trusting them and their abilities, but he did it slowly. You were with him every step of the way.

With your help, he made peace with the people he hurt in his past. No matter how bad he felt about himself, you were there to tell him that people are capable of changing and are allowed to move past their mistakes in life. He became a better son, friend, and person.

He valued you too much, seeing you as both the ally he can rely on and the person he never want to lose.

This is one of the reasons why he worked on his anger management, his open scars, and his closed off personality. You didn't tell him to change, Bakugo knew you never want him to change anything about himself but he wanted to be better for you.

As much as he felt undeserving of the amount of love you give him and that you were simply meant for a better lover, Katsuki Bakugo vowed to be the best version of himself.

So he will be exactly what you deserve.
