"You okay?"

You felt the bed dip as your boyfriend took you in his arms after a long day, "...fine."

The first time that Katsuki Bakugo ever seen you this anxious, withdrawn, and hopeless was back in school. You were both sixteen, barely heroes and merely students with provisional licenses.

You locked yourself in your room, taking one of your quiet times, but Bakugo was forceful then. He didn't know and didn't understand how losing in a sparring match could make you this sad. The explosive blond demanded you open the door and when you did, he found himself unsure about what to do.

He was never good with his own emotions and dealing with yours was quite foreign to him.

Slowly he learned.

Slowly he can pick up the pieces of your brokenness and not force them back together immediately. After years of practice, Bakugo found that he didn't have to fix anything about you when you're this forlorn.

No, he only has to pick up the jagged edges, the smallest bricks, and the frustrated tears that you release from your system. He learned to help you with whatever you may need. May it be simply offering these pieces and watch you put yourself back together, or holding your shaking form, holding you together.

Bakugo can sense the slight quiver of your lip, the glassy eyes, and your heaving chest.

Yes, he can read you like an open book - not that you ever kept anything from this man. He was much too observant and too perceptive to ignore the little changes in your smile and in your spirit.

Bakugo has memorized you so you best believe that this man would be on your side when you feel the slightest change in your self-confidence. He would always offer an embrace or if the situation hinders him to be too obvious, he would hold your hand like an anchor, dragging you back to the shore before you're even carried off by the waves of self-doubt.

He is ready to listen to your broken sobs once you're alone. He is ready to hold you, not even scolding you with the too harsh words he is infamous for. He is ready to offer you any kind of solace you need, anything that you ask of him.

Bakugo will hold you until you're ready to fight back your demons. He will offer to fight them for you when he feels that you need back up but if he knows that you just need to rest in him, he will simply wrap you in those strong arms and keep you there until the fire in you blossoms again.

When you recover, he lets your hand go. Bakugo will watch you fight. He trusts you enough so don't worry about him intervening - unless he knows you need a hand, he'll just be on standby. You were strong and capable, there are just some moments when you forget your abilities.

He will be the person to remind you how bad ass you are because all you really need is one person to believe in you.
