Chapter 45

“Oh, you're awake..” I glanced at the person who talked, it was Deiry. “Gutom ka na?” She asked. “Namumula at namamaga ang mga mata mo. Anong nangyari?”

I stared blankly at her, “I want to tale a bath..” Deiry just took a deep breath and smiled gentle which is a rare sight.

“Sabay na tayo. May hot bath dito pero mas full magandang experience iyong sa Sitio Kapit natural hot bath from nature... I tried it once and my pain was relieved why won't you try i–––”

I cut her off. “––I want to be alone.” Deiry fell into silence, hesistant because of my behavior. “ Please..” Pagdurugtong ko sa sinasabi.

Deiry then nodded and walked away, like what I wanted... I'm all alone. Afraid of something, courage for nothing.

Kinuha ko ang mga gamit ko upang puntahan ang sinasabi nitong hot bath. Habang naglalakad ay nakita ko silang nasa may garden at mukhang nagkakasiyahan, for this distance I can clearly see them laughing.. Xerxes, Rossweisse, Clasper and Genevorld doing the barbeque while the girls are enjoying their time chitchating.

“Ma'am.” I automatically moved my fist and punched the person behind me, I was shocked as I flinched. “Ack.” Mahina nitong daing. “Viech Telohoad.” I immediately step backwards when I recognized him.

“Are you okay?!” I asked, “I told you multiple times! Don't call me behind my back! I hate it! I almost broke your nose!” I exclaimed but Viech professional stood and massage his nose like nothing happen.

He stared at me, “I apologize.” He timidly said. “My mission is to guard and protect you,” Viech then avoided my gaze he was like a child who's asking something that made him feel embarrassed.

I felt light-hearted by his words... It's not the same.. Me and the past gad gone apart though, we still have a lot of work to correct the things keeping us tied with that string...

I smiled genuinely, “thank you, Viech..” He nodded. Bago ako makapasok sa hot bath ay nauna na ito sinabing iinspeksyonin muna.

He was diligently working even though it wasn't needed. Viech is younger than us so it's unlikely of him to be this kind of mature. After all, what kind of life he was in?

Viech, nodded. “Okay na po ma'am..” He said. Kinawayan ko ito bago pumasok sa loob.

The hot bath was a large place that I mistakenly thought of a room. It was divided by two rooms one for men and for women, it's spacious and no one can enter the room since I'm all alone.

I took off my clothes and scrub myself before going to the large pool a like. The fragrance was soothing, the hot water with herbs felt nice, I also lighten the candles around me to complete the session.  I felt relieved both physical and mental aspect. Isabay pang katabi nito ang isang transparent na katamtamang laki ng bintana na one-way through, nakababad ako’t tahimik na pinagmamasdan ang senaryong iyon.

Kitang-kita ang mga bundok sa Sitio Nga-Nga, ang mga nagkikislapang ilaw sa Sitio Hiyaw Pa, ang palayan ng Sitio Ibuka at ang tawag pansin na old chapel na noo’y lagi kong tinatambayan..

I hate to admit but sometimes I wish I didn't left this place.. However, at the back of my mind there's a sudden pang on my chest reminding me why I despise this place. Nakatakas ako sa matatalas na mata ng mga media, ang magulong paikot-ikot na buhay ko sa Maynila..

Half a minutes passed when suddenly the lights went off. Mula rito’y dinig ko ang natatarantang boses ng mga tao sa garden.. Natagpuan ko na lamang ang sariling natatawa ng marinig ang mga boses ng mga bata mula rito.. Sabay-sabay na banggit ng mga salitang.

“Ayy, walang power!!”

I stayed calmed, I still have my candles so it's okay.. Complicated, intoxicating, and frustrating... Sinuklay ko ang basang buhok bago tumayo at nagbanlaw dahil malapit ng maupos ang mga kandila.. I took a quick shower and dried myself with the small tower before wrapping myself with the robe. I was only wearing my undergarments beneath sa sobrang pre occupied ko’y nakalimutan kong magdala ng damit!

Dahan-dahan ang aking paglalakad takot na madulas.. I heard the door creak indicating someone has entered.

“Deiry?” Patanong kong sambit bahagyang kinakapa ang dinaraanan. Ramdam ko ang presensya nito ngunit walang salitang binitawaan. “Shamaine?” I asked again, the person's presence screams something..

Something familiar..

Isang malaking hakbang, pilit na inabot at sinundan ang presensyang iyon.. I grabbed the persons cloth.. “Dei, are you playing pranks? Can you help me get my clothes please–––––” I didn't continue when the lights turned on.

I froze when my eyes saw the large chest I'm leaning on. My mouth gaped open when I realized that this isn't a woman's chest, slowly and hesistantly my gaze came upward only to see a man looking at me darkly...

He was blushing despite of having that dark gaze.. He then frantically step backwards gently pushing me away.. Standing face to face... I gulped.

Fuck. It was no other than him.
