The thief

Dear Diary,
Let me tell you a strange thing that happened today.

It was about three at night when I heard a creak sound which was probably emitted by the forlorn wooden staircase who had given up on life just like me.
I believed confronting would sum up to be useless, for all I  knew it would either be a ghost or a thief particularly in either case who wouldn't answer my "who's there?" anyway.

I silently shuffled under my blanket pretending to be dead so that when time comes, I would simply pull out the gun from under my pillow.
Yes I keep a gun under my pillow so if suddenly a stranger shows up, I'd rather shoot myself than deal with strangers.

Quietly as if someone sneaking in, the door opened without any sound and it felt like somebody entered.
After a few seconds of laying so still that I must have been invisible;
I slightly open of my eyes to check the intruder.
And with my deepest condolences, I'd like to inform you that I made eye contact with him. Why am I so bad at this!
The anxiety drifted in until a voice started me,

"millennials are so weird they don't even open doors after 9 p.m.", he looked tranquil as for someone who just broke into someone's house.

"I know you're awake girl, nobody sleeps as dead as you are playing.

Plus, your knees are elevated.", I could not beat that deduction.

His steps wandered around my bed.
"I'm tired from a good day's work I'm here for some fun", that didn't sound quite good coming from a strange man.

"Plus.. Your charger switch is off.", he said with a mocking tone.

"Fuck", I accidentally muttered to myself which was at the moment,
not a good idea.

"haha caught ya", he chuckled.

"Are you a ghost? Please leave me", I whined under the blankets.

"No I'm worse."

"what? Are you from the tax department? Are my taxes due?"

"No shut up I'll kill you"

Kill.
"Wait a sec... I waited my whole life for this moment.
I have a Spotify Playlist for something like this can I..", I silenced my blabber after looking at his face.

He looked amused for no reason.
Was he a serial killer?
What was making him toy with me?

"first of all, I'm not a ghost.
Have you seen such a handsome looking ghost?", a stupid smirk plastered across his face.

"umm kdramas..."

"I can shoot you right now"

"Well I prefer my right side profile.", I was about to celebrate my victory before he drew a gun out of his back pocket.

"You see girl.. Anything can happen here."

"Do not come closer or i will scream."

"Scream?
It's spooky season man.
People are putting screams as their ring tones who would even care for yours?", he put the gun back and continued,

"You know what, let me show you I'm not a ghost", he pricked his finger letting hot blood ooze out.

"YOUR BLOOD IS GREEN!
ARE YOU AN ALIEN?", I shouted.

"wait.. What.. No"

A deep silence persisted.

"Are you colorblind?

goddammit.. Why did I decide to choose a random house today.", he sighed.

Before I could, he grabbed my phone on the table which was apparently, not being charged, thereby taking me hostage.
By now, a strange link had been established between us which combined mutual trust minus killing intent.

"You live alone?"

"why should I tell you?"

"cause I'm telling you... Yes I live alone too."

"Awh for all these years?", I pouted.

"Yes I'm 300 years old"

"oh please, I have wrappers on my room for longer than that."

"Are you serious? You still think I'm a ghost?", he looked at me cluelessly.

"No...i just", he cut me off by leaning in towards me.
Something in my heard thumped.

"Wha- what are you doing?"

"checking you out"

"I'm not a hotel"

"I know exactly what you are. Dumb."

I hmphed in silence.

"Let me go rob someone else, I bet you're broke and can't even afford some good wine.", he rolled his eyes.

"yahh that's rude... And true at the same time."

"I bet I'll ever come around this broke ass neighborhood again, so...
I'm Jeonghan", he mischievously smiled at me.

"yeah yeah
I'm Y/n"

"I'll stop by again if I ever come around", he winked at me before jumping out of the window.

"you could have... Used the door where you came from", I spoke to the silence.

And that was the only meagre adventure I ever faced in my life.
If I see him again will I nudge him?
I don't know.
But we sort of kind of clicked that night.
