~Free's POV~

*clink*

"Drain Fafnir with a burst finish. With a score of 3 to nothing, Free De La Hoya wins!"

Of course he anticipated this. He anticipated every little move his opponent would make. After all, as the top blader it was only natural for him to own every inch of the stadium. From the moment his opponent stepped onto the platform to when the referee would call out his victory, he had it all planned out. He was used to everything going his way and following his expectations. As he sauntered back to his team he couldn't help but hope this year's tournament won't be as boring as usual. The only person who can give him even the slightest bit of exhilaration anymore is Lui Shirosagi. It'll probably be a breeze until the finals.

"No, not with them in the competition." He thought fondly. His soft, carefree smile was a rare sight to see but he couldn't help but feel content as he sat on the bench, his teammate making his way onto the stage for what should be the last battle. His mind filled with thoughts of certain bladers. In his eyes, Valt has the potential to produce a different outcome this year. Perhaps changing around members of the 'Big Five' as people call it. To be honest, Free couldn't care less who was second or third best. If they aren't the best, if they haven't beaten him yet, there's no point in holding on to some empty title. However, there's always those who manage to surprise. Like Valt for example. And a certain black-haired blader.

"And that's it folks! With the Raging Bulls taking home yet another crushing victory they continue to push strong through the competition!" Free took that as his cue to quit daydreaming and get back to the hotel they were staying at. However, the announcer caught his attention once again and he turned towards the big screen, lingering back for the first time in a while.

"But for how long will the Raging Bulls be able to keep riding that high with all these fearsome opponents! SB Rios continues to climb up the ladder with two members of the big five paving the way!" The screen showed a few snapshots of SB Rios' latest battles. Blatantly showing off Xander Shakadera and Ren Wu Sun's skills. As well as that, a fierce looking girl and a fairly hefty boy stood smiling at the camera.

"And of course our newest hot shot team, Sunbat United!" There, clips of Sunbat flashed by in a flurry. Showing a peculiar blonde looking boy laughing smugly at his obvious victory. His opponent sulking on the floor. And another purple-haired boy holding his fist up as a glory move. Free's eyes lit up with a spark when he spotted two of his old teammates. He didn't know they had already moved on from BC Sol.

"Last but certainly not least, the incredibly famous BC Sol! It is beyond question that every blader in this competition is keeping an eye on this team. Especially with all their newest additions!" And there, on the screen flashed a dark-haired girl, the locks being accentuated by a supposedly natural purple streak. She had just launched her bey in the slowed clip. The rip cord still flailing around, her bey in the middle of the air, her hair billowing around her like a curtain, her eyes holding a sense of determination and power, her smile unwavering. If the girl was to look at herself in this moment she'd cringe at the absurd image. Hating the way she seemed to look like some mad woman with her widened eyes and crazy smile. However in that moment, Free couldn't help but admire her as she battled. From the way her beautiful hair sparkled in the big lights to the way her beaming smile grew when she won. As if the world slowed down when she was shown up on screen. And when she disappeared just as fast he managed to catch himself in the act before one of his pesky teammates did first. He shook his head and made his way out of the stadium. To the crowd it ended as a normal battle. However, to those looking close enough they could just spot the slightest flush on the golden boy's face.

Free let out a tired sigh as he laid his back on the fairly clean rooftop. The dark, lively, plane-filled sky of New York calms his mind. Up here, away from all the bustling streets of night time New York, is the closest thing he has to home. The tranquil forest back in Spain was one of the only things he really liked. Putting Kristina aside he had cherished nothing more than the stretch of pure nature and interesting little creatures that would come and play with him sometimes. That was until yet another girl came into his life. Ally Deelo. The boy didn't realise it but the corners of his lips slightly curled up at the thought of that girl. She seemed to plague his mind more often nowadays. Ever since he made that stupid desicion to call her.
