"Agent Jareau and Dr. Reid didn't, Tyler texted me," she gave back, "We can hope Hotch and Agent Rossi did."

Secret Service Unit
JJ sat on the edge of the table, trying to understand the angle at which the bullet had entered the victim's skulls.
"That looks like an execution," a smooth voice said beside her, and the faintest smell of something citrusy, mixed with a light sweetness met her nose. JJ took in the combat boots, the dark pants, the blue blouse, and the high ponytail.
"Sorry what?" she muttered, ignoring the realization that she almost smelled like Emily. Just without the note that her colleague wore that made her want to lean in closer. Sandalwood, as she had found out one day when she had looked at the bottle. Scratching that thought from her head, she finally looked into Alex's eyes.
"To achieve that, the angle has to be a different one than standing behind someone, when the victim is standing too. It looks like they have been executed," she said, tipping on the photo. JJ switched through them, realizing it looked like that for all of them.
"Calculated, cold, but close enough to see every detail," JJ said, nodding towards the still empty board, "That's some good points on his MO."
"What are some points on his MO?" another voice asked behind her, as she scribbled down a few of those points. JJ turned back to Alex and Rossi looking at her.
"Alex noticed it looked like an execution. That's a planned move, distant, and yet close to the victim. You'd see every disgusting detail of the act."
He hummed, looking back at Alex. "And yet, cowardly."
She raised an eyebrow.
"Because it was from behind? I would say it depends, it's only cowardly if he wouldn't have managed to look them in the face when he killed them. Otherwise, it could speak for something like revenge. Execution is usually carried for a crime, right?"
JJ watched as Dave thought about her words, slowly nodding. "Could be. You could have a point. Did you find anything at the event locations?" Rossi asked.
Both of the women shook their heads. The older agent hummed in disappointment. "Too bad."
Alex opened her mouth, but a loud voice stopped her.
"Evans!" a man in a dark suit bellowed, making the called-out agent turn around with an alerted edge. Out of the corner of her eyes, JJ saw Tyler flinch. "Your office."
Before she could even answer, the man had strutted into it.
"Shit," Alex mumbled, hurrying behind him. JJ exchanged a look with Dave, raising her eyebrows.
"Doesn't look too cozy."

"Do you have any idea what happens when you log into these confidential documents? It's alert city right now, and I keep being asked what the hell the Secret Service is doing now!" Major Barnes not said but yelled at her.
"Sir, I-" she started, but didn't even get a word in. She had to bite the inside of her cheeks to stop herself from yelling back.
"What on earth were you looking for? These projects are confidential for a reason, Evans."
He turned away from her, huffing in anger. One of these days, if he wasn't cautious, he would die from a heart attack. Probably in her own office.
"We're investigating three murders, and were cross-checking relations between the victims," Alex tried, digging her nails into her palms. She couldn't just lose her cool around someone like Major Barnes. Oh, how she wanted to. But if she did, this would probably be one of her last days.
