BEEP BEEP BEEP! BEEP BEEP BEEP!

My alarm clock rises me from my slumber.

Grabbing a box of Gorilla Flakes cereal that has Housen's ugly face on it, I eat it without any milk as I munch on an egg, some canned beans, and a banana.

Then I proceed to take a really cold shower, as I've done every day of my life. Unfortunately, the water gets scared of me and turns warm, also known as my pain tolerance kicking in.

Heh. It's like I've flexed my muscles without actually doing so.

As I put on my school uniform and step outside to head to school, I take note of the date.

It's my birthday, a day of meaninglessness, just like any other day, or at least that's what it's always been like.

Now, I have friends, people that care about me.

I wonder if they would even bother to remember this little detail?

Meh. Not that it matters to me. Never once have I cared for what others think.

But it would be nice to spend this kind of day with one other person. Maybe that would help me bring back my emotions.

Suzune POV

I'm the first one to arrive in class again, so I take my seat and read a book.

One by one, noisy, annoying people that are my classmates begin filing in. Some of them seem more talkative than usual.

"Morning, Keisei."

"Good morning, Akito."

"Good morning, you two~!"

"You seem more excited than usual, Haruka. Is something happening?"

"How could you forget, Yukimu?! Today is Kiyopon's birthday!"

Eh? Today is Ayanokouji-kun's birthday?

That one thought is distracting me from my book, and I can't focus, so I put it away.

"Tch! Who cares about that nobody?!" Ike grumbles as every girl shoots him icy glares, including me, so he immediately shuts up.

"Karuizawa-san, what are you going to get for your crush's big day?"

"Ehhhh?! S-Shut up, Satou!"

She has a crush on him?

Karuizawa has a crush on him.

For some reason, I don't like that fact.

I need to do something to make sure they don't get together. I know! Once I see Ayanokouji-kun, I'll ask him out under the pretense of 'hanging out' so that everyone else steers clear.

I just hope he doesn't think of it as a date.

It isn't a date. It's just two young people who happen to be a boy and a girl that are often confused for a couple spending time together...

My face feels warm as my lips quiver a bit at the thought.

Dating Ayanokouji-kun doesn't sound bad at all. I used to look down on him much like everyone else, but recently, he saved Sudou and me from Housen, even getting himself stabbed to solve the situation.
