It'd been a day since the meeting with Octavio and Ember. Naida and Cody had been brainstorming a way to get Cody out. Seeing as Naida was such a well known figure, troopers would recognize her in an instant if she was attempting to leave HQ and would get reported to Octavio, who'd given strict orders to soldiers to keep an eye on her, because Cod forbid that the Squidbeak Splatoon somehow manage to kidnap her to get a bargaining chip. "Why can't I just get out on my own?" Cody asked "because, now everyone knows your my attendant. So they'll assume you'll be out on an errand for me. And if you don't come back it'll raise suspicion. Especially since you've been here for such little time here. Then it'll blow up in my face, we need to make this discreet." She replied, Cody nodded "how long until you have to head back to Octopia?" Naida thought for a moment "Dad probably won't make me go back unless things get heated. Or unless the Salmonids want to adjust our new treaty again. They like to call in at crazy hours." Cody's eyes widened "you guys talk to the Salmonids and don't get splatted?" He asked "yeah, we do business with them. It's a recent development, actually. And since they're, uh, different...In terms of when it's acceptable to call for a meeting. Since Dad just stole the Great Zap Fish, he's been letting me handle the Salmonids as a form of training. I get a lot of help though, from all sorts of Octarians. Marcus, Aiden, and Uncle Kai." She said "I have no idea who any of those guys are." Cody responded, leaning back in his chair "oh, right. Well, you'll need to remember most of them anyway since they're all kinda a big deal. They're also my family." She said "I've been meaning to ask, whose your Mom? You've only mentioned Octavio." Cody mentioned "I don't have a Mom. Dad adopted me when I was a baby. I just have a lot of mother figures in my life. Auntie Ember and Kiyomi are probably the closest thing I have to a Mom. Kiyomi is a close friend of my Dad's, she's just traveling right now." Naida explained "huh, go figure." Cody replied "anywho, Marcus is head of the science and education department. He usually vets anyone who becomes my attendant with the help of Aiden, Ember's son and who mostly goes my Commander Mason. Uncle Kai is Ember's husband and Aiden's Dad. He's from one of the Noble families that help in most domestic stuff, like farming and all that." She finished her long explanation "uh, I'll keep that in mind." Cody replied "you better, it's pretty common knowledge for Octarians. And seeing as your pretending to be one, you've gotta know the stuff." Naida said, then there was a knock on the door Cody quickly pulled his hood up for his new semi formal outfit. "Come in!" Naida called out, a Octarian woman then opened the door. She was wearing a long black and red dress with black hair, and red eyes. Her hat had roses and thorns on it, on top of the masquerade style mask with the feathers behind it. "Agatha!" Naida shouted before hugging her "hey, Nai, how are you doing?" She asked "pretty good, just taking in the experience, y'know?" Naida responded, Agatha nodded "thought I'd come look at your E-Liter and Splattershot. As cool as it is to having inkling weapons. Have to make sure they don't get clogged or anything." Agatha said "right, right." Naida went to go pull the weapons out of their cases which were resting on a desk "so whose he?" Agatha asked, looking in Cody's direction "my new attendant. Anastacia quit so I had him rushed in." Naida replied setting the weapons in front of her "hi, ma'am." Cody sheepishly said "sup, kid." Agatha responded, looked the weapons over "you're really taking good care of these things, Nai. About as well as any Octotrooper, I'd say." Naida smiled "thanks. Well, Cody. As you know, this is Agatha. She's a weapons designer and works a lot with Dr. Gros, I assume you came out here to check on the Octobot?" Agatha nodded "Octavio put that thing through the ink alright. To bad we don't know where Agent 4 is, I'd like to look at his weapons. If you could put out that much ink it's something I want to study." She said "the Octolites are already on it. Ember assigned them almost immediately." Naida replied "well, let's hope they bear some fruit. With the power increase from the Great Zap Fish. I can finally get to work. And it's going to be glorious." Agatha said with a dark grin. Naida shook her head "always with the fighting." She said sadly "you know what Octavio is always saying, dear." Agatha responded, setting down the Splattershot Naida nodded, but that was all of her response "well, I'm gonna give your E-Liter an upgrade. I think I could get some more range on it, I'll get it back to you when I can." Agatha picked up the E-Liter and slung it over her back "Sounds good, and thank you." Naida replied, Agatha nodded and left
