Rhodey is always supportive of her, even through her improvements as an Avenger in-training. Sometimes he jokes with her about letting her in one of Tony's suits knowing she has no clue on how to control them by hand. Rhodey looks out for her when Tony isn't present at the moment but he is. He's always honest with her but tries to say it in the nicest way possible, even with advice she asks for him about anything.
You can say that he's sort of like an uncle to her.
