"Yes, friends sir, just friends. We've always been just close friends promise...sir."

While they were having their little talk, grandpa passed me on too dad before he began pointing his finger at Atlas.

Dad had placed me on his lap, pulling my head into his chest.

"No kissing little girl. Not with Atlas or with any other boy. I'm serious, friends yes, lovers no. You're too young. Understand"

I laughed but he gave me a pointed look, "sure, I don't want a boyfriend. I do, but guys my age suck so I don't want one right now." I spoke out loud making some of the males turn around and give me a pointed look.

"No lovey dovey with anyone."

"Okay" I breathed out a laugh.

When grandpa was done with his little treat, we all sat down and ordered before we started talking.

"So Val, how do you two know each other and that Amy?" Diana asked, turning all the attention at the table to me.

They were all giving me curious looks, so I looked at Atlas for permission to talk about him too because he is included in this story. He nodded so I started explaining.

"Well, so when I was with them and all the beatings got worse, I needed to hide everything more and more. So I stopped talking to friends I made, eventually everyone got tired of me being so distant and stuff that they also stopped trying. Everyone but Amy. In the period of time when I stopped talking and kept everything too myself, I also confessed to a teacher about the beatings and everything at the house. She believed me and all sorts of stuff happened, but eventually nobody believe me. The police didn't, child services, everyone thought that I was just a little stupid kid looking for attention. Long story short, that made all my 'friends'' parents, tell their children to stop hanging out with them. They listened and then I had no one, I was now the freak. No one really talked to me unless they had too, but Amy. She believed me and eventually we met Atlas, he believed me too. Amy and Atlas were both kind of my life support, without them I don't think I would be alive right now.

By me telling that stuff, everything at the house became worse. Beatings everyday and more play room sessions. Their friends came over more and I needed to do all the chores now. Amy and Atlas always helped me clean my wounds or helped. With stitches, got me food and much more.

Over the years we tried many more times, to get me out of that household, but no one believed us. And every time trying again made everything 10 times worse so I decided to stop trying and made Atlas and Amy stop too. I never got to know Atlas' parents but I guess I do now.

We all learned Dutch as our secret language, not many people know the language so it was fun talking and no one really understanding anything that was being said.

Everything was going okay and good, until Atlas needed to move away. It was to heartbreaking to say goodbye, so he just left without saying one. It was hard for both Amy and I. We tried to move on, but their was always this hole in our chest where he was. By being so young we didn't know any address or had a phone so we couldn't contact each other. We didn't know he was moving, one day he just never showed up and than the teacher told us that he moved away.

One day Amy and I needed to do this project for school, but we needed to work on it at each other's house. I had sneaked out multiple times in my life and they found out but never dragged me away from somewhere, they knew that I would face the consequences later and didn't want to get drawn more attention to us.

I didn't want Amy at my house, so I...I went to her house. They tracked me down and went to Amy's house too. Her parents tried to protect me but couldn't do anything. John grabbed me by my throat like he had done multiple times already and made me pass out by shutting down my airways. I couldn't see what had happened too Amy or her parents, all I know is when I woke up in the play room covered in blood and bruises that they told me they had killed them. It's not true though, I know it. They lie horribly. I ran back to her house, but there was nothing wrong. There was no blood and there were definitely no traces. I tried looking for her but gave up after a while.

I just kept going on for years alone until you guys came. They died and now I'm here." I gave them a little smile in the end.

We were all quiet for a minute until the food arrived.

When we all got the food, we all began eating. And started talking after a while again. I didn't want to eat anything, not after remembering everything that had happened, but still took a few bites, so I wouldn't disappoint the others.
