Kia's POV

"Ate Lai you're here!" I called her out and pulled her into a hug when I saw her entered the room totally ignoring Kuya.

"Hey, Akia Brayleigh I'm still talking to you!" I don't know what to say to him kaya nagkunwari akong hindi siya narinig.

"Ah, Kia I think your Kuya is--" I cut her off by changing the subject dahil ayokong pagusapan baka gawin pang big deal ni Kuya.

Ok fine, that was an excuse I was the one who's making a big deal out of it. Ako 'tong kilig na kilig when the truth is wala naman dapat ikakilig sa nangyare. It's not like Gil did it with romantic feelings, for sure wala lang iyon sa kanya dahil sino ba naman ako, diba? I'm just he's twin sister's best friend, I'm just someone he knows for a very long time, anak ng best friend ng nanay niya, kapitbahay or what's worse is that maybe he thinks of me as his sister too.

"Kanina pa kita gustong kausapin Ate but Mom kept introducing me to people so I didn't get the chance. Good thing naisipan mo akong puntahan dito" I said trying to divert the topic.

"Yeah me too! By the way happy birthday" she said handing out her gift to me.

"You didn't have to but thanks Ate, can I open it?"

"Sure go ahead, I'm sure magugustuhan mo 'yan"

I opened her gift and it was one of the newest published book of my favorite author.

"Wow! Ate Lai this is the best gift ever! Thank you so much!"

"You're welcome, ikaw pa malakas ka sa akin" she said winking at me.

"Right, another book for little Ms. Nerdy" here we go again, nakikisabat nanaman si Kuya kahit hindi naman kasali sa usapan.

"Whatever Kuya, as if your gift could be even better than Ate Lai's" I answered him trying not to roll my eyes to his comment.

"Yeah sure whatever! Tell me that right after you opened my gift" he handed his gift to me so I opened it. It was a brand new phone and God knows how much I tried my best not to scream out of excitement.

"Got anything to say, little sis?" He looked so pleased dahil alam niyang gustong - gusto ko iyong regalo niya, like hell I would let him savour this moment. I faked a cough before answering him.

"As if Kuya, for all I know galing din kina Mom and Dad ang perang ginamit mo to buy this" I was expecting him to be irritated or something pero nginisian niya lang ako.

"Dear little sister, masyado mo naman atang minamaliit ang kakayahan ko, just so you know I bought that with my own money" pagmamayabang pa niya.

"How is that even possible 'e hindi ka pa naman nagtatrabaho"

"Hindi lang naman sa trabaho pwedeng makakuha ng pera, I have scholarships because I'm smart which gives me the privilege of buying that gift for you. Anything else you want to know?" Geez, kahit kaylan talaga ayaw patalo nitong mokong na 'to tsk.

"Whatever, that only means na ginagastos mo ang allowance mo for things that are not related to your studies, tapos ipagmamayabang mo sa'kin? Oh please!"

"Hindi kasi ako gastosera kagaya mo so I have excess money to buy things that I want"

"Right, right, whatever you say Kuya, whatever you say"

Hindi ko nalang pinansin si Kuya at nakipag kwentuhan nalang kay Ate Lai hanggang sa oras na para umuwi siya, dito kasi kami matutulog sa hotel since sabado naman bukas at wala akong pasok pero dahil university students na sila ni Kuya may pasok sila bukas kahit na sabado.
