AZRA LOOKED AT at her parents with grim determination as she waited for their response. Rima and Afzal Shahid continued to stare at their daughter as if she was going to sprout another head on her body. Azra knew this was a huge demand and she knew that it was not going to be easy for her parents to cave to her terms but if they wanted her to marry at their terms, they had to listen.
"A month in Paris with Gianni Kashyap?" Azra's mother asked finally after a long pause. She could her the disdain and wariness in her voice but Azra chose to ignore it as it was understandable.
She nodded her head as she met her gaze squarely. "One month without anyone hounding at me constantly. I want this time to live my life and have fun with my best friend before I consent to marry Sabir."
Azra's father frowned and said, "Do you really think we'll allow you to go off to a strange country and let you do whatever you want?" She stifled her sigh and said, "I want to go to Paris with my best friend, is that too much to ask, Abba? I am just asking you to trust me and just let me go. You know I would never do anything to disappoint you both or do anything that's questionable." [A/N: abba = dad]
It was the truth and she knew they knew that. In her entire twenty six years of existence, Azra hadn't done a single thing that could affect her parents in any negative way and she had managed to drive away anything that could mess with her mind... Or well, heart.
"So, do we have a deal?" Azra asked firmly as she looked at her parents. They exchanged a look of anxiety and uncertainty before turning to her. "Let us sleep on it and we'll give you an answer tomorrow morning."
Azra decided that she could compromise with that and nodded her head in agreement. "I will be waiting here at exactly nine a.m."

Gianni and Azra looked at each other with silly grins on their faces as they landed in Paris and laughed giddily.
"This is going to be the best time of our lives!" Gianni declared and Azra couldn't help but agree. This trip would change her life; now for better or worse was yet to be decided.
