From Death to Captain

Chapter One

Naruto just stood there. How did it come to be like this? Naruto inwardly thought.

Standing across from Naruto was a figure that was considered a close family friend.

Sasuke Uchiha, the last surviving member of the Uchiha Clan.

He was leaving the village, and Naruto was trying his darn best to persuade the person that was more like a brother to him to stay. Also, because of the long ago promise that he made to Sakura. The memory of her crying eyes still fresh within his mind. He couldn't go with him, him being one of the legendary Sannin, Orochimaru.

They were standing in the valley of the end. An ancient battle ground that the first Hokage, Hashirama Senju, and Madara Uchiha fought for being the leader of the land of fire.

Sasuke had started to form his trademark attack the Chidori, and Naruto with his Rasengan.

Both exerting their entire being into this one final attack.

They rushed into each other, but at the last second Naruto stopped and Sauske had pierced Naruto through the chest.

Sasuke's eyes widened.

"Why?" Sasuke said with a tone of defeat.

"It was the only way. I couldn't hurt you. " Naruto honestly replied.

"Damn it- Naruto!!"

"Please take care of everyone. "

"Naruto your not dying. "

"Teme..."

Kakashi had made it-but unfortunately not in time.

He saw both of his students in the middle of a torn up ground. Both of them lingering in water, and rocks that were destroyed in battle. They were drenched in water. But what Kakashi noticed was the piercing cries of his student Sasuke.

He was suddenly behind his student, and looked down. His eyes couldn't believe it.

His sensei's son was dead. This just couldn't be... Kakashi had picked up Naruto. Never looking down at Sasuke. Kakashi didn't want to believe the one person that had connected him to his dead sensei was gone.

"I promise Naruto. " Sasuke all but whispered running towards the village with Naruto's dead body in tow.

[Break]

On the other side laid an golden haired teen. Slowly blinking into consciousness.

The sun blared on his skin, alerting him that it was daylight.

The last thing he remembered was Sasuke -the one person he considered a brother had killed him. But, he had passed down his dream to him so he took comfort in knowing that the village would be ok.

At least, that's what he hoped.
