Chapter Sixteen: The Apple Never Falls Far From The Tree

Start from the beginning

Aries took the calming draught out and drank some, the feeling left, hopefully she would be fine for the rest of the day.

"Oh, there you are darling." Deborah  said as Aries walked down into the garden, the tables were filled with fruit and toast, Stephen was stood by a barbeque holding a pair of tongs, he had an apron on with the words 'Kiss the cook', next to him was an elderly gentleman, Aries assumed was Peter's grandfather.

"Five minutes for the sausages!" he called. "Phil, get out here and help, Gordon's almost eaten all of them."

"No I haven't." Peter's grandfather said, popping one into his mouth.

Aries made her way towards Peter who was standing next to a lady with a similar resemblance to Chloe.

"Aunt Kathy, this is Aries," he said. "Star, this my Aunt Kathy."

"It's nice to meet you." Aries said, holding out her hand.

Kathy pressed her lips into a smile but declined the handshake, "Yes, yes, Peter dear, your Mother was telling me about your N.E.W.Ts..." she pulled Peter away towards the tables.

Aries brushed it off and walked towards Deborah who was setting down plates.

"Do you need any help?"

"Umm... I don't think so deary, although Phil looks like he's having a bit of trouble." Deborah said, turning her head towards Peter's Uncle, he was struggling to bring in a large box.

"No, no I'm alright, Debs, this box is as light as a feather." he heaved.

"What the hell is in there?"

"Right so one my students in their English class was telling me about this thing right, Kathy thinks I'm mental, but I got batteries and everything-"

"Get on with it Philip." Gordon rolled his eyes jokingly. "You can speak for England, you."

"Oh alright, so it's this." he said, opening up the box and pulled out a miniature car, with a remote.

"Oh, it's a radio controlled car." Stephen said.

"You know about these?"

"Yeah, I got one for Pete years ago for christmas."

"Isn't it fantastic! It's made by muggles and it moves by itself." he said excitedly.

"Yes, it's magic." Deborah said, sarcastically.

"No, it's not that's the amazing bit." Phil said, placing the car on the ground and using the remote it started moving across the pavement, in fairness Aries did find it quite amazing.

"You are forty two years old, you've been teaching in the muggle world for almost twenty of those and this is what amazes you." Stephen shook his head.

"You teach muggles?" Aries asked, she hadn't even realised wizards could do that.

"Yeah, he works in a university- you wouldn't think it as my brother is in fact a man child." Deborah said, rolling her eyes.

"How were you able to do that?" she asked Phil, intrigued. "I thought Hogwarts only prepared us for the wizarding world, and Muggle studies doesn't seem to help with that."

"No, no, Muggle Studies is useless in that school." Phil said, "You've got to talk to your head of house and they'll get all the stuff you need. Exams are painful but it's worth it in the end, plus if university doesn't work out you can always pretend you didn't do it and slip right back into magic."

"What can you study?"

"You can study anything really, English, Maths- I don't recommend but you'll have to do it for some of your exams, Science even art-"
