Chapter 11 - Wierd Answers

Preeti - Nahi! Abhi ke liye toh bas itna hai aur kuch hoga toh bol dungi.

This earned Preeti a glare from Sameer while she just chuckled seeing his expressions.

Few hours later :

Preeti had already left the house, and was quite impressed by how much Sameer was caring about Naina.
Sameer was at the moment, in their room, doing his work on his laptop.
He was preparing for some upcoming project when suddenly he noticed Naina stirring in her sleep. Seeing this he immediately rushed towards her.

Sameer - Naina. Kuch chahiye kya tumhe?

Naina - ( *opening her eyes gently* ) Aap kaun ho? ( *looked at him properly* )
Oh acha Sameer
Aap-aap khade kyun ho baithiye na apna hi ghar samjhiye

Sameer looked at Naina weirdly for a moment but then thinking about the other wierd answers she had given earlier, just sighed and sat down.

Sameer - Naina tumhe kuch bhi yaad hai?

Naina - Kuch bhi kya? Mujhe bahut kuch yaad hai. Apka naam Khadoos m-m-mera matlab Sameer Maheshwari hai main hu Naina Sameer Maheshwari sab kuch toh yaad hai

Sameer - Naina-Naina main uski baat nai kar raha hun main pooch raha hun kya tumhe attack ke baare mein kuch yaad hai? Matlab kaun log the? Kaise dikhte the? Ya aisa kuch?

Naina - Ha? Haan. Yaad hai yaad hai

Sameer - Kya? Bolo jaldi ( Towering over her )

Naina - Haan toh suniye

Sameer - Haan bolo ( *attentively* )

Naina - Main aur apke kuch log mandir ja rahe the

Sameer - Tum aur mere kuch log mandir ja rahe the

Naina - Kahi se pata nahi bahut log hamare samne agaye gun leke

Sameer - Kahi se pata nahi log agaye tumhare samne gun leke

Naina - Fir achanak se baarish shuru ho gayi

Sameer - Fir achanak se baarish shuru hogayi. Haan uske baad? ( *Serious* )

Naina - Aur fir sab log osmosis se phat ke mar gaye

Sameer - Aur fir sab log osmosis ek minute kya?! ( *shocked and confused* )

( Osmosis - The movement of water molecules from a region of their higher concentration to a region of their lower concentration through a semi-permeable membrane. Salt water fishes when kept in normal water, burst due to osmosis )

Naina was already half unconscious while saying all this, and listening to the word osmosis god knows what came into her mind that she immediately grabbed a knife from the side table and positioned it right in front of Sameer's throat, stiffening him up.

Naina - Boliye Osmosis ka definition kya hai?

Sameer - ( *shocked* ) Naina dekho chaku khelne ki cheez nai hai fek do fek do ise

Naina - Boliye warna apko fek ke marungi ye

Sameer - Naina ise fek ke maarte nahi kaat te hain. Naina-naina dekho agar main mar gaya toh tumhe answer kaun dega? Ise dedo mujhe

Naina - Baat toh aap sahi keh rahe hain. Koi baat nahi next time try karungi. Ye lijiye chaku

Sameer - Haan theek hai next time - Ek minute kya?! Next time?! Choddo baad mein jo karna hai kar lena tum abhi bas yeh chaku mujhe de dedo

Sameer took the knife from her hand slowly, not wanting to hurt her even a bit. After taking it back, he gave her the medicines. As a result, she immediately drifted back to sleep, ending all the life threatening stunts for the day.

Sameer - Finally so gayi ( *sighed* )
Kitni Khatarnaak hai ye maar hi dalti aaj mujhe. Pehli baar jab maine dekha tha ise tab kaha pata tha mujhe ki yeh bholi aur masoom dikhti hai par hai nahi aree insaan ko maarkar defna degi ye aur kisiko kaano kaan khabar bhi nahi hone degi. Naina devi hai bilkul yeh toh.

Sameer - Abhi toh bukhar kam hogaya hai thoda par mujhe yahi rehna chahiye kahi bukhar firse badh gaya toh?

He again sat on the sofa and started doing his work. Meanwhile, Naina was sleeping peacefully on the bed but all of a sudden, she started sweating badly, she was mumbling some inaudible things and was looking really anxious. Sameer noticing this, immediately rushed towards her.

Sameer - ( *Trying to wake her up* ) Naina-Naina utho.
Kya hua? Utho
Kuch nai hai yaha pe. Dekho sirf main hi hun. Kya hogaya? ( *Sat beside her and started caressing her hairs* )

He, then started rubbing her palm and whispering calming things in her ears. Soon enough, she evidently calmed down because of Sameer's presence, which always made her feel safer.

Sameer - Thank god Naina calmed down. Par aisa kya dekha apne nightmare mein usne? Ki itni dar gayi?
Koi baat nahi jab hosh mein ayegi tab pooch lunga

Sameer tried to get up but noticed that Naina was clutching his t-shirt. She had fisted it so tightly that it seemed as if she was afraid that he would leave her. Not knowing what to do now, Sameer just sat beside her again and resting his head on the bed rest started playing with her hair.

Sameer - Naina tumhe pata hai jab tum behosh hui thi tab laga tha jaise duniya tham si gayi ho. Kuch samajh nahi araha tha mujhe ki main kya karu. Tumne toh meri jaan hi nikaal di thi.Thoda filmy sound kar raha hun I know but sach mein aisa ho raha tha. Maina kitna try kiya tumse door rehne ka, tumhe itna daant bhi diya par fir bhi ghoom kar tumhare hi paas agaya. Aur mujhe nahi lagta main jaise tumhare saath pehle behave karta tha waise kar paunga. Aur waisa karna bhi pointless hoga kyunki fir main khud tumhari jaan khatre main daal dunga. Naina pata hai tumhe, itne saalo mein maine apne chaaro taraf ek deewar bana li thi, par tumne wo tod diya. Mujhe wo rebuilt karna hai par pata nahi kyun ab mann nahi ho raha, thoda waqt tumhare saath, thoda Munna Pandit aur thoda Nanu ke saath bhi guzarne ka mann kar raha hai kya pata baad mein mauka mile ya na mi-mile.

He got so emotional saying this and remembering something that his voive trailed off at the end. Tears weren't falling, but his eyes had turned so clear that every pain, every suffering and every fear was evident in them. Though he was trying to maintain a rock hard personality from outside, he too had an emotional side, that he had kept hidden from the outer world.

Thinking and talking to her about everything, he too slowly dozed off. Sameer had kept his hand on her head, while she was still clutching his shirt, both of them were in their dreamlands and enjoyed a peaceful night afterwards.
