Their safety must come first.
"Promise me… that you will never ask to leave this mansion. Ever. Again."
The sudden change in demeanor shocked the two brothers, but there was nothing else they could do other than to obey their father's wishes.
If it meant making him happy, then so be it.
"We promise, father."
It won't be for another 12 years that they would get the urge to want to leave the safety of their home anyway.
