"Here. I'll place the popcorn right here." Jake says.

He places the big bag of popcorn in the middle of us and on top of the blanket, making it accessible to both of us. Though the popcorn was in the middle, Jake and I were still relatively close with our bodies almost touching next to each other. I lean back against the seat and he does the same shortly after me.

"I'm excited. I hope this movie is good." Jake speaks up.

"Yeah, I usually really like action movies. My favorite genre is horror, though." I respond.

"Gosh, you have balls of steel. I hate scary stuff. It freaks me out. I get so scared easily." He shudders, looking at me.

"Jay told me about that time you were in his bathroom and got scared of his toilet. I thought it was pretty funny." I giggle softly.

"Oh my god! He told you about that? That's so embarrassing!" He covers his face, his cheeks turning red.

"He swore not to tell anyone... no....." he makes a pouting noise.

"It's okay. Don't be embarrassed." I pat his head gently, feeling his soft hair.

"No, Shiyeon. I feel like a loser whenever someone brings that up. I mean, who the hell gets scared of a toilet?" He whines.

"It's okay. If you ask me, I think guys who get scared easily are really cute. I think it's adorable, so don't be so embarrassed." I tell him.

He looks at me with widened eyes, his cheeks still flushed. He then breaks out into a small smile, his eyes turning shy and soft.

"Y-You think so?" He gushes.

"Yeah." I nod my head.

He looks away, flustered.

Here this goes again; a shy Jake.

It's like he has two sides to him; a confident, arrogant side and a shy side. He's never shy with anyone else; girls specifically. He's always so cocky and confident, and this shyness coming from him is so new. It all feels so unreal; seeing him so flustered like this.

"Gosh, my heart is beating super fast. I don't know why," Jake says, sipping and gulping down his drink.

Same, Jake. Same.

"Shiyeon! The movie's starting," Jake pats my thigh excitedly and points to the screen.

The lights shimmer down and now it's completely dark in the theater; the only light source is the big screen. I get fully comfortable and we all quiet down, eyes glued to the screen while we're both eating popcorn.

Throughout the whole movie, Jake would lean his head towards me and whisper things about the movie. Most people would find this annoying, but I thought that it was super cute that he was so excited and shared the most obvious things to me.

Every now and then, he would also pat my thigh or arm in excitement due to the events in the movie as well. The butterflies remained in my stomach the entire time.

I put my hand into the bag of popcorn to grab some, but unexpectedly at the same time, so did Jake. Our hands touching, we both jerk our hands out of the bag and look at each other with widened eyes.

Jake's widened eyes become soft and he smiles at me warmly, giggling softly. I smile a little back at him, my heart beating fast.

To make matters even worse for my rapid heart beating, Jake suddenly scoots in to me as close as possible, resting his head on mine. I gulp, my eyes secretly widening like golf balls. In exchange, I carefully move my head so that it was on his shoulder while his head remained resting on mine.

"Look!" Jake whispers to me like a little kid. "Look at how cool the buildings look! Isn't that so cool, Shiyeon?" He gasps quietly.

I chuckle gently in awe at how cute he was being.

"They really put a lot of effort into this movie. It all looks really cool." I whisper to him.

"Look at John Cena!!!" He whispers loudly, patting my thigh repeatedly in excitement.

"Wow, he seriously looks so buff." He giggles childishly.

"SHHHHHHH!!!" We hear many people shushing Jake.

"Sorry..." Jake quiets down, embarrassed.

I smile, patting his arm.

"It's alright, Jake. These people are just jerks." I assure him.

"Thanks, Shiyeon." He pinches my cheek.

Am I seriously doing this, right now?

With Jake?

This cannot be happening.

I was supposed to hate this kid.
