What a sight for sore eyes

"You like him, don't ya?"

I looked down at Yuu, not even trying to deny it and knowing if I did, I wouldn't convince anyone.

"Just tell him."

"You say it like it's so easy, Yuu-kun."

He tilted his head,"Isn't it?"

I shook my head,"Ryuu isn't attracted to anyone other than Kiyoko-san."

"So?"

"So, I don't have a chance. Besides," I smiled sadly,"I'm just his friend. Kiyoko-san has him completely mesmerized and she doesn't realize it."

Yuu frowned, he looked troubled and concerned. It was no secret that I wasn't exactly attracted to the opposite sex. But people are always shocked when I directly tell them.

"Look, I want to help you, Y/n. You're like my brother. My tall little brother."

I laughed softly.

"So, I'm going to help you. With Suga-senpai! He's smart with these kind of things!"

I could only nod, feeling an ache in my heart. I didn't need help with this. I knew I liked Ryuu, more than a friend, and he knew I liked guys. It was burying my feelings that seemed hard. I probably would have to do that and it hurt me. I didn't want to. But if Ryuu really sees a future with Kiyoko, I'm not going to get in the way.

I felt my eyes widen, staring at the red faced Ryuu who had a wide smile on his lips.

"You and Kiyoko-san?" I questioned, still in shock.

She's been rejecting him since first year and here we were, almost at the end of second and she finally agreed to date him, so suddenly.

He nodded furiously,"Yeah! I can't tell you how excited I am, N/n-kun! Like, I finally have my goddess!!"

I bit my tongue, feeling my blood run cold as my eyes glazed over with tears.

I gulped softly, forcing a smile as I shut my eyes.

"I'm so happy for you, Ryuu-san! You're a lucky guy!" I beamed, feeling myself break in a cold sweat on my back.

He nudged me playfully,"Hey, that's my girlfriend! Don't steal her!"

I laughed,"I would never."

We spent the rest of the night playing video games, Saiko checking in on us now and then, but Ryuu kept talking about Kiyoko.

I tried to listen but tone him out as well. I just couldn't.

I found myself thinking about them. Thinking about how Kiyoko would be the one kissing Ryuu whenever she could; thinking about how she would invade Ryuu's dreams and I would probably be the side character.
