Chapter 8 "Will You"

Ren's POV

I had everything planned out. Since I never asked Skyler to officially be my girlfriend, I planned on asking her tonight. With a romantic dinner at the top of a hill, watching the stars and the moon shine, both of us laying down on the blanket, hopefully cuddling, and some candles and roses. It's like a fantasy, but it's not.

Walking away from Skyler, I went towards the gym. I had basketball practice. So that means I have to stay longer after school. I love basketball. It gets my mind off of things. But I have to stay until 5:00pm which sucks dick a lot.

Walking into the gym, my teammates greeted me and I did the same. I was the team captain so I had no choice but to show up, even if I was having a bad day. But it can't be helped if I'm that good, right? Just kidding but I was the most experienced out of the team. As I walked to where my teammates were standing, I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched.

Running back and forth was so tiring but I enjoyed playing basketball. I just still couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched though.

As Jennifer passed the ball to me, I took the shot and made it. That also is signaling the end of practice. God practice was long. But hey it'll all be worth it when we go to the championship.

After changing out of my sweaty basketball uniform, I left immediately. Driving up the road of my house and parking my car, I locked the car and went into the house and went upstairs to my room to take a shower. After I finish showering I put on a pair of black baggy skinny jeans with my black high tops and a sleeveless shirt that says rock n' roll on the front and my blue hoodie. I brushed my hair and teeth and went to nock on Skylers door. (A/n: Skyler lives with them now)

I nock three times on her room door and wait. After waiting about 5 minutes, Skyler comes out wearing dark blue skinny jeans that hug her legs with a pair of black converse and a plain black long sleeve shirt. Damn she looks hot, I thought. After a minute or two of staring at Skyler, I asked her if she was ready to go and she just nodded but was blushing. It took a while to process but I figure out why she was blushing, she heard me say what I thought about her by mind link. I couldn't help but smirk though.

Walking out of the house, we hopped into my car and drove off.

"Where are we going?" Skyler asked me.

"You have to wait until we get there" I respond and smile at her when I see frown at my response.

"I don't want to wait, can't you just tell me?" She asked.

"Nope, if I told you, it wouldn't be much of a surprise now would it" I respond with a smirk. Man she's cute when she's impatient. (A/n: haha this sounds super familiar) At the corner of my eye, I saw her give out a big sigh signaling that she gives up on trying. I guess she doesn't want to talk about it since I won't talk. But I could help but give out a little chuckle.

About and hour later, we reached our destination. We were on a sight seeing mountain where people go to look at the stars at night or to see the beautiful view of the city. There was a spot where people could sit on the grass and stuff.

Going to the back of my car and opening the trunk, I pulled out the picnic basket that I prepared with food and two blankets. One blanket for the ground and the other blanket is incase we get cold. After grabbing the basket and blankets, I went to pick a spot to setup everything's. When I finished setting everything up the blanket and food, I took out some candles and put them around the blanket but not to close to the blanket. Then I called Skyler over and we both took a seat.

Me and Skyler talked for a while asking each other questions and got to know each other better.

"Why did you stay in school and where did you go?" Skyler asked.

I couldn't help but smile, "I had to go to the gym for basketball practice" I replied.

"Oooohhhh, so how was practice?" She asked.

"It was fun, but tiring" I reply.

"Fun huh? Do you enjoy basketball?" She asked.

"Yeah it helps me get rid of the stress and all" I reply.

She just nods. Then there was silence. Not an awkward kind of silence but the comforting kind of silence. After a while, we looked at the stars and talked about our families. I also turned on the radio and to my surprise, your so beautiful by empire was playing.

Everything was going so smoothly. But I was getting nervous. My palms were getting sweaty. It was getting hard to say words now.

"Ren are you okay" Skyler asked.

"Y-yeah I'm fine" I stuttered. Wait a minute, I never stutter. Wow in a short amount of time she has this affect on me. She then shocked me with a question.

"So what are we?" Skyler asked.

"Well I'm hoping for something more than mates" I reply.

"Me too" she said and smiled at me.

"So um Skyler, since we are on the topic, I want to ask you something" I say.

"Ok ask away" she said.

"Ok, we may not have known each other for long, but in those short amount of time, I have grown to really like you Skyler. Now that I got to know you better tonight, it feels like I knew you my whole life." (A/n: Once again, this sounds really familiar) I say and then take a deep breath. "Skyler will you be my girlfriend?" I asked.

She sat there smiling for a while before she said anything.

"Well, I should say this then. I feel the same way too Ren. You have the same affect on me, and I like you too. Not because we are just mates, but because in the short amount of time we met, I have grown some really strong feelings for you" she said.

"So is that a yes?" I asked.

She nod her head yes. I couldn't help but stand up and I pull her up with me. I spun her around and around. I was so happy. When I stopped spinning her, we locked eyes. Then we slowly moved our faces closer to each other and next thing we knew, we were kissing. It was more of a passionate kiss. More passionate than the one we had shared when we marked each other last night.
