so many questions

Start from the beginning

"Can you tell me your name?"
Alby tried again

"I, uh, I can't remember anything. Why can't I remember anything?"
He asked, scared.

"It's ok. Hey relax."
He spoke after that he started breathing heavily.

"Relax. It's normal. It happens to us all. You'll get your name back in a day or two. It's the one thing they let us keep."

"What is this place?"

"Let me show you."

Alby offered a hand. Which the green bean cautiously took. Alby led the greenie around the glade.

"We eat here. We sleep here. We grow our own food. We build our own shelter. Whatever we need the box provides. The rest is up to us."

"The box?"
The greenie asked.

"Yeah. It's sent up once a month with fresh supplies and a new greenie. This month that's you. Congratulations.''

"Sent up? By who? Who put us here?"
The greenie asked him many questions.

"That, we don't know."

"Hey, you alright Alby?"
Newt asked as he walked up to the pair.

"Greenbean, meet Newt. When me and Alex aren't around he's in charge."

The greenie and Newt shook hands.

"Alex? Who's Alex?"

"Well it's a good thing you two are always here then. Listen, that was some dash you made earlier. For a second, I thought you had the chops to be a runner..... Till you face-planted."

Newt said completely ignored the greenies' question.

The greenie figured he would get the answer to his questions any time soon so he dropped it. For now. And asked a different question.

"Wait a 'runner'?"

"Newt, do me a favor and go find Chuck."
Newt looked from the greenie to Alby and nodded his head.

"Alright, thanks. Look, I'm sorry to rush this. You came up a little late, and there's a lot to do. We got something special planned tonight. Yeah you'll see."

Alby then led him up one of the watchtowers.

"Hope you're not afraid of heights. Let's go. Come on."

"This is all we got."
Alby started when they got to the top.

"We worked hard for it. If you respect this place, you and I will get along just fine."

"What's out there?"

"We only have three rules. First, do your part. No time for freeloaders. Second, never harm another glader. None of this works unless we have trust. Most importantly... never go beyond those walls. Do you understand me greenie?"

Their conversation was interrupted by Chuck.

"Hey Alby!"

Alby and the greenie looked over the ledge.

"Hey Chuck. Where have you been?"

Chuck took the greenbean to get his hammock set up.

"It's basically the same story for all of us. We wake up in the box, Alby or Alex gives us the tour...then here we are."

"Who is this Alex person I keep hearing about?"

"You'll find out later. Anyway, Don't worry, you're already doing better than I did. I clunked my pants three times before they could get me out of the pit."

He continued. But when he turned around the greenie was walking towards the maze. He jogged up to him to try and stop him.

"Dude, where are you going?"

"I just wanna see."

"You can look around all you want but you better not go in there."

"Why not? What's there?"

"I don't know. I just know what I'm told. And we're not supposed to leave."

Just then Minho and Ben come running out of the maze.

"Hey Chuck. New greenie huh? How's it feel to be promoted."

Ben greeted as he and Minho continued to run to the map room.

"Feels great Ben."
Chuck replied.

"I thought no one was allowed to leave."
The greenie asked.

"I said we were not allowed to leave. There are different runners. They know more about the maze than anyone."

"Wait, what?"

"What?"

"What? You just said 'maze.'"

"I did?"

"Yeah."

"Where are you going? What are you doing?"
Chuck asked as the greenie got a little too close to the maze for comfort.

"I'm just gonna take a look."

"I told you, you can't. No one leaves. Especially not now. It's not safe."

"Ok alright, i'm not gonna go."

He started walking closer and closer till he was stopped.

"Hey!"
Gally yelled and threw him to the ground.

"We gotta stop meeting like this, greenie."

"Get off me!"

"Alright! Calm, calm, calm."

"Don't touch me!"

"Woah! Take it easy. Just relax."

Gally yelled as everyone heard and started running to see what was happening.

"What the hell's wrong with you guys?"

"Just calm down, all right?"
Newt tried.

"No, ok? Why won't you tell me what's out there?"

"We're just trying to protect you. It's for your own good."
Alby explained.

"You guys can't just keep me here."

"We can't let you leave."

"Why not?"

Then the doors started closing. Everyone looked at the doors and the greenie turned around. Everyone covered their eyes as the wind blew in their faces. Gally stepped in front of Alex, no one noticing her there.

"What the hell?"
The greenie whispered.

"Next time. I'm gonna let you leave."
Gally stated as he left. Alex is not traveling far behind.

That's when the greenie noticed her. seemingly the only girl in the glade. As he watched her walk away. He thought that she seemed familiar. She is thinking the same thing.

"Welcome to the glade."
Alby said.
