Ch.17

Lee know pov:
I look around the quiet buss seeing everyone sleeping except for Hyunjin and felix. Felix had been at the back the whole time staring out the window. I walk back to join him but he doesn't pay me any attention. He was swirling strands of water around his fingers which he does when he's nervous. "Something bothering you lix?" He jumps a little and the once smooth strands if water jumbled into tiny seas of chaos. He catches them before they could fall to the ground and absorb back into his skin.

His attention was now on me and he had to carefully think about how to answer this question. If he said no I would know he's lying. "I miss Rayleigh. She was a little more clingy than usual when I left" what he said wasn't a lie. But he definitely wasn't telling me everything. "You guys shouldn't have scolded Marlee so much" he was trying to change the subject but I let it happen seeing as he obviously didn't want to talk about it. "You know the girls can't come with us." He glares at me with an intensity I've only seen from Han and his was usually backed with his fire powers.

I was sure if he still had his water out it would be boiling. Not with heat but with anger. "She has every right to come. Spencer has been multiple times." He has a point but I couldn't understand why he was fighting so hard about this. "She's pregnant felix. She had to see the doctor." Felix was never one to argue or cause fights but he was not backing down from this one. "What is wrong with all of you?? Couldn't you tell she's upset. She wants to help. She been beating herself up since Jeongin died" so that's what this is about. Felix himself went through a rough patch where he felt he was useless. He's sympathizing with her.

"I understand. You're right. We could use the extra help anyways. We'll have two new members on the way so that means extra supplies." He looks at me in shock. "How did you-" I pat him on the back. "You're not that good at hiding things. Besides who do you think hid the pregnancy tests from the others?" He softly smiles at me and looks back out his window. "I have faith in this one" he looks back at me and I could have sworn I saw a glimmer of hope in his eyes. I give him a smile before returning to my seat.

Marlee pov:
The bus jerks to a stop and I slightly open my eyes to see Seungmin standing in the isle and smiling big. "We're here" changbin stirs awake beside me and grabs my hand before we could leave the bus. "Do not leave my side and if we happen to get separated just stay where you are and I'll find you" I nod as he pulls up his fabric mask and I do the same. As we exit the bus we walk down a long alleyway that keeps our transportation hidden. We enter the small rundown city merging with the crowd.

I look around at the people around us. They all looked miserable and sad. Some had cuts and scars from hard labor and even children carried loads to help their parents. Not being able to bare the sight I decide to look straight ahead squeezing Changbin's hand to assure he's still there. A tug on my arm led us to another secluded alley where we were alone again. "How do they live like this?" Changbin rubs the back of my hand. "It's not ideal but it's getting better. Woojin used to own this place. Now it's under construction and slowly they are getting back on their feet" I nod and take one more look at the sad crowd of people before being pulled into a hidden door.

Once we were inside we took off our masks and are met with a group of men staring with intensity. Their stares burned holes into my skull "Who's the girl?" The room was dead silent before Changbin spoke. "She's with us" all of a sudden the atmosphere changed and everyone laughs. They all embrace eachother before Seungmin grabs Hyunjin's hand and teleports him back to the bus so they could pull it up for the supplies. "It's been a long time Bin" I watch them interact as one of them pulls my boyfriend into a hug.

"How have you been Jaemin" the said man smiled and grabbed the hand of the man beside him. "Couldn't be better" the taller male looks down at him lovingly. "Mars this is NCT dream. A smal part of a huge rebellion group. They provide all of our supplies and they have a few doctors for when we need it" I nod at Han as he explains. "Nice to meet you. Anyone with stray kids is a friend of ours" the short one with the big smiles says. A knock on the door signals that the bus is outside and we load up the supplies.

Felix pov:
After everyone was packing up to go and saying their goodbyes I walk over to mark who was marking down inventory. "Hey Felix what's up?" I sigh and his smile drops seeing my serious expression. "I know things are tough right now but I really am appointment with Doyoung." He nods and marks on his clipboard. "Sure, what's the problem? You don't look sick?" He examines me up and down. "It's not for me. It's actually Rayleigh." A look of understanding flashes his face as he writes it down.

Doyoung was the doctor we've always used for Rayleigh's pregnancy's. "Of course. Best of luck this time he'll see you in a week." I thank him before loading back on the bus. We wave as we start to head back home. Once we were about an hour away from town Hyunjin stops the bus. "What's wrong?" Leeknow questions as he doesn't move. "No one move. We're surrounded." Leeknow curses under his breath and immediately turns on the radio to reach chan. Before he could find the right channel the bus doors are forced open.

"Sorry to intrude my friends but we're gonna need those supplies." The man who didn't look at all familiar says. He turns out of the bus to shout something. "Sangyeon they have medical supplies" they force us out of the bus and 12 of them stood surrounding us. Little did they know one of us was missing. "Wait! You can't take our supplies!" Changbin grabs marlee and tries to stop her from speaking out but she doesn't listen. The men stop to look at her. "I'm sorry but we have no choice." The leader says as his men prepare to board the bus and take our things. The inside of the bus illuminates orange as Han was finally discovered.

They all run out of the bus and stare at us in awe. Han stands at the entrance of the bus with his hands still ablaze as a warning. "You're from district 7?" They look suprised and nervous now. Their strong demeanor now being gone. One of them charges for the bus again not caring about our powers. Before Han could fire at him marlee yells. "Stop!" Everyone stops in their tracks and we all look at her in confusion. Why would she stop us from protecting our supplies? Didn't she want to help? "You're friend is hurt right?" She addresses the leader and we all notice what she was looking at. One of them was being supported on each side by two of their members. He looked weak and like he would pass out any second.

They look at her skeptically for a minute before answering. "We stepped into a poison gas trap. His mask slipped. How did you know?" She steps toward the injured man but they draw guns at her and she just puts up her hands in surrender. "You don't need our supplies. I'm a healer. I can help him" they lower their guns allowing her to step closer and examine the injured man. Before anyone could process what happend one of them grabs marlee and points a gun at her head. "Sorry lads. We need to borrow your healer. Don't follow us or she's dead."
