Chapter 14

28 ~~EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING ON FIRE~~ 28

Peter and y/n are running out of the building.

They approach a couple and Peter hands them the little girl.

Peter is coughing a lot.

A fire truck suddenly arrives.

They get out of the car and begin getting the water hose.

They get it ready and begin spraying the building down.

Peter and y/n have walked away from the couple and are now watching the firemen.

Peter coughs again.

Y/N
Are you okay?

PETER
Yeah, I'll be fine.

Y/N
That was a very brave thing for you to do, Peter. Did anyone ever tell you that you'd make a good superhero?

Peter laughs.

PETER
I have gotten that before, yes. I guess I have a knack for saving people. And so do you. You're an amazing superhero. Don't ever quit.

Y/n smiles.

Y/N
I won't.

They turn their attention towards the firemen again.

Not too long later, the fire is put out.

Peter is now breathing through a respirator and is still coughing.

Y/n is standing next to him, rubbing her hand on his back.

Two firemen walk up to them.

FIREMAN #1
You got some guts, kid.

Y/N
Yeah, he certainly does.

FIREMAN #1
Thanks again for your help, Lizard-Girl. And yours too, mister.

Y/N
Don't mention it. We're happy to help.

Peter nods his head and coughs again.

FIREMAN #2
Some poor soul got trapped on the fourth floor. Never made it out.

FIREMAN #1
Aw...

The two firemen walk away and begin telling the other firemen to pack up their stuff to leave.

Y/N
I guess you can't save everybody.

PETER
They should've survived. If only I were still...Spider-Man. They would've been fine.

Y/N
You can always be Spider-Man again. I'd like to have my crime-fighting buddy back.

Peter smiles.

PETER
Nah, I can't. Even if I really wanted to, I couldn't. I...don't have my powers anymore.

Y/N
Well, what did you do when you first got them? How did you try them out?

PETER
I stood on the top of a building and I-huh.

Y/N
What?

PETER
Oh, nothing.

Y/N
Okay. Say, I'm gonna go home. Are you gonna be okay?

PETER
Yeah, I'll be alright. Maybe I'll think things over.

Y/N
Right. You go do that, Parker.

Y/n punches Peter in the shoulder lightly.

He smiles.

PETER
Goodnight.

Y/N
Goodnight.

Y/n then starts running and jumps onto the top of a building.

She starts jumping from building to building to reach her apartment building.
