3 ~~EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING~~ 3

Y/n keeps walking fast and walks over to a bike rack outside her apartment building.

She unlocks her bike from it.

She then begins riding the bike to her job.

4 ~~EXT. SQUARE DINER~~ 4

Y/n reaches the Square Diner not too long later.

She gets off of her bike and walks over with it to the left side of the diner.

She then locks it to the bike rack.

She goes around the back of the diner and goes through the door.

5 ~~INT. SQUARE DINER~~ 5

She enters the kitchen and quickly starts completing orders.

She glances to her left and notices the manager is standing in the doorway to a connecting kitchen room.

Y/N
Hi, Mr. Servaczech.

MR. SERVACZECH
Hi? I don't pay you for hi's. You're late.

Y/N
I know and I'm sorry. I just got caught up in-

MR. SERVACZECH
I don't care. You keep showing up late and appearing as if you're in a daze. I don't pay you to daydream, I pay you to show up on time and to work.

Y/n nods her head.

MR. SERVACZECH
This is the last time I'm going to let your tardiness slide. One more slip-up, and you're fired, you hear me?

Y/n nods her head again.

MR. SERVACZECH
Good. Now get to work.

Mr. Servaczech starts to walk away, but stops.

MR. SERVACZECH
Oh, and since you're late, again, you have to work longer than your usual shift. Again. Do you understand me?

Y/n nods her head.

Mr. Servaczech then walks off as y/n starts completing orders again.

Y/n hands a burger dish with fries to another employee.

EMPLOYEE
Thanks. Oh, table five needs a server, by the way.

Y/n sighs.

Y/N
Okay. On it, thanks.

Y/n rubs her hands on her uniform and puts on a smile before exiting the kitchen.

She walks over to table five.

An older looking couple is seated there.

Y/N
Hi. My name is y/n and I'll be your server today. What can I get you to drink?

WOMAN
Finally, some service. Yes, I would like iced tea. Unsweetened. And my husband would like a coffee. Black.

Y/N
Alright. I'll be right back with your drinks, and I'll let you have some time to look over the menu.

Y/n walks away and back into the kitchen.

Her smile vanishes and she exhales.

An employee suddenly walks up to her.

EMPLOYEE #2
Y/n, can you make this order?

Y/N
Sure.

Y/n then makes the order and hands the dish to the employee.

Y/n looks through the window in between the kitchen and the dining room and notices the irritated expression on the woman's face at table five.

Y/n hurriedly gets a cup and starts filling it up with tea.

She then exits the kitchen and walks over to table five.

Y/N
Here's your tea, ma'am. Sorry about the wait.

WOMAN
Took you long enough. What about my husband's coffee?

Y/N
I will get that right away.

The woman begins drinking the tea, but spits it out all over y/n.

WOMAN
Ugh! This is sweet tea! I wanted unsweet tea! Are you trying to poison me?!

Y/N
I am very sorry about that, ma'am. I will get you a new tea immediately.

WOMAN
Yeah, you better. Or I'll report you to the manager.

Y/n grabs the tea and walks quickly back into the kitchen.

She dumps out the tea and makes sure to fill it up with the correct tea this time.

She goes to exit the kitchen when she remembers the coffee.

She sets the cup down and grabs a pot of already brewed coffee.

She then walks out of the kitchen with the cup of tea and coffee pot in hand.

She walks over to table five and places the tea down in front of the woman.

Y/N
Here is your correct tea, ma'am.

Y/n begins pouring the coffee into the man's mug.

WOMAN
Thank you. Hopefully it is the right one this time.

Y/n is watching the woman drink her tea.

The man at the table suddenly screams.

Y/n looks at him and notices that she was still pouring the coffee, which overflowed from the mug and poured onto his lap.

MAN
It burns! It burns!

Y/n sets the coffee pot down on the table.

Y/N
I am so sorry, sir.

Y/n grabs some napkins.

WOMAN
You monster! You're trying to hurt my husband!

Y/N
No! I'm not, I swear! It was an accident!

Y/n tries wiping the spilled coffee off of the man's pants.

WOMAN
And now you're finishing off the job!

Y/N
No! I'm just trying to clean up the spilled coffee!

WOMAN
This is the worst dining experience we've ever had! We won't be coming back here! That's for certain!

MR. SERVACZECH
What's going on here?

WOMAN
Oh, thank God, the manager. Yes, this employee of yours tried to poison me, and then tried to injure my husband!

Y/N
No, I didn't! I just gave her the wrong drink and then spilled coffee on her husband's lap! Honest!

WOMAN
This is the worst restaurant I've ever been to! I'm going to write a review about this and tell people what awful customer service you've got here! I hope nobody ever eats here again! Come on, Richard, we're leaving!

Her husband slowly gets out of the seat and follows his wife out of the front door of the diner.

Y/n and Mr. Servaczech watch them go.

Mr. Servaczech then looks at y/n angrily.

MR. SERVACZECH
What did I say? No more slip-ups!

Y/N
But-

MR. SERVACZECH
And not only did you slip-up, you could've caused major economic damage to my diner!

Y/n doesn't say anything and avoids making eye contact with Mr. Servaczech.

MR. SERVACZECH
You...are fired.

Y/N
Mr. Srvaczech. Please give me another chance. I'm sorry.

MR. SERVACZECH
No. Go. Get out. Now.

Y/n looks at him, then looks at the ground.

She walks past Mr. Servaczech and exits the diner through the front door.

6 ~~EXT. SQUARE DINER~~ 6

Y/n goes over to the bike rack on the left side of the Triangle Diner.

She unlocks her bike from it and begins riding it back to her apartment.
