Chapter III: First Day

*The Next Day*

[Kai and Jaden's Room]

"Hey hey Jay get up, we got our first class today remember?", says Kai as he gets ready to go to their first class, "Alright alright, *yawn* just five more minutes ok", yawned Jaden as he pulls his blankets over his face, "Dude it's 08:16 we have to be there by 09:15, now get up!", Kai commends Jaden, "Wait are you serious?!", Jaden jumps out of bed and immediately starts preparing, "Alright I'm done, Jay I'm heading out, I'll see you in class so hurry up ok", said Kai as he walks out of their room. Kai leaves the boy's dorm and meets Brandon, a guy he and Jaden met during the plane trip, "Hey Kai over here!", he yells to Kai trying to get his attention, "Oh hey Brandon how are you man?", asked Kai as he heads over to him to greet him. "Did you hear, Professor Carlton has a surprise for us", said Brandon, "A surprise, why didn't I hear about this?", Kai asks. As they walk and talk Jaden rushes over to them and overhears their conversation, "I wonder what this surprise is, oh maybe it's another tour of a really important part of the campus so no more class today yes", said Jaden.

Brandon sees an old friend of his and runs towards her while Kai and Jaden follow slowly, "Liv wait up", yelled Brandon trying to get her attention, he moves up to her and taps her still trying to get her attention. She turns around and removes her earphones, "Hey Brandon how are you doing?", Eve asked in a not so excited tone, "Well I'm good but what's wrong with you, didn't you hear the Professor has a surprise for us?", he asks as Kai and Jaden come over and interrupt their conversation, "Hey Brad, what's going on?", asked Jaden, "Wait so you're calling me Brad from on?", asked Brandon, "Yep so umm won't you introduce us dude?", Jaden asked. "Liv this is Kai and Jaden, Kai and Jaden Liv", Brad finishes the introduction as they keep on walking to the designated location the professor wants to see them.

They arrive to the location and see almost everyone in their class already arrived, "Hey are we late?", Kai asks a classmate of theirs, "Oh no not at all, I too just arrived", the girl answered giving relief to Kai and Jaden, "Here he comes", said Kai. "Good morning class", greeted Professor Carlton, "Good morning sir", everyone greets back, "So there will be no class today, your first day in a proper class will be tomorrow, reason for that is because yesterday as you all left me and Ms. Kim had a discussion, we saw how interested you all were regarding the history of GENTEK and everything in between such as the Blacklight Virus, so me, Ms. Kim and the director of the campus came to a very exciting decision, today you will be one of many that will have the opportunity to see original sample of the Blacklight Virus", said Professor Carlton. *GASPS* everyone very excited to have such a rare opportunity to see the actual Blacklight Virus, the same virus used on the people of Hope Idaho 1969 with the goal to achieve immortality.

"So what do you think?", Kai asks Liv, "What?", she replies, "I mean what do you think of the this amazing opportunity the professor and Kim have granted us?", she doesn't respond and moves the front of the crowd. "All right class the symbiote will be on display for another 15 minutes but for those would like to be early for their other classes or extra mural activities you are more to go", says Kim. "Hey Brad I heard there's gonna be basketball tryouts tomorrow so I need someone to practice with, wanna come?", asked Liv, Brandon agrees and leaves Kai and Jaden. "Hey miss Kim what other activities, which involve competing, are there?", Jaden asks, "Hmm let's see there's basketball, there's hockey, tennis, badminton, chess, gaming clubs, all sorts of sports you can compete other schools in", Kim explains, "Bro join the basketball team, he may be a nerd but Kai was part of our team back in high school and led to winning the championship", says Jaden, "That's quite impressive young man", says Mr. Henderson startling Kai and Jaden. "I'm the coach of the basketball team and there are already people practicing for tryouts right now so if you are interested join them", Mr. Henderson leaves greeting Kim and the boys leave too.

"Bro did you really have to say all that back there?", Kai asks, "But bro it's the truth, GenU could gain a great player if join the team, so what do you say?", Jay asks. Kai requests they go see Brad to see how his practice is going. They enter the indoor basketball court and spot Brandon with Liv. "Sometimes I forget how big this school, yoo Brandon", Jaden shouts out for Brandon's attention, "Oh hey guys are you here to practice too?", Brandon asks, Kai looks around the court and answers, "Umm yeah but I might not tryout just wanna play".

"Alright since there's four of us let's play some 2v2", Liv introduces the idea, "I'm with Brandon and you can stay as your couple", says Liv, they all laugh at Liv's joke and then head to an empty hoop. Kai and Jaden are given the first ball, Kai starts with an immediate 3 point shot to start of the game. 15 minutes pass and Kai and Jay are in the lead with 3 points, "Wow you guys never told me you're good at basketball", Brandon compliments them, "Come Brandon 5 minutes left don't encourage them just cause they're you friends", Liv commends. The scores remains the same for 3 minutes, "You're not half-bad Kai", says Liv in a sarcastic tone, she then goes around him getting ready to shoot her shot but then Jaden stops it and passes it to Kai, Kai shoots and scores winning the game for him and Jaden. "Let's go, yoo GG guys", says Jaden showing good sportsmanship, "Good game man", Brandon responds, "GG Liv", says Kai as he reaches his hand out for a handshake, she leaves and storms out of the court, "Liv does not like losing especially by someone she just met, sorry about that Kai", Brandon apologies, "No I get it, I hate losing too", Kai accepts the apology, "Hey guys let's go play against some other guys", Jaden introduces the idea, "Alright, hey you guys wanna play", Brandon calls out.

*Meanwhile*

A metal giant door closes in what seems to be a storage facility. "Hey big bro I'm back", says a mysterious voice of a young woman, "got some Japanese food for us, *chuckle* I mean you've been in that incubator for the last 6 years, I doubt you still remember the great taste of good quality ramen mmm. I'll be honest all those years back I was and still am grateful for exposing those Gentek and the Blackwatch military, but there was a point where I was afraid of what you've become. I got a whole new meaning of life when I was kidnapped by that Leader Hunter , after you saved me I wanted to make fear my friend and use it to destroy Gentek, but you stopped me and succeeded in destroying Gentek and Blackwatch. I still believe that new university, Genetics University, is a cover-up. I have seen a lot go in and out of that university which do not seem like stationary or study materials for their students. I don't know, maybe I'm just clutching at straws here."

"D-Dana is that you?", the man in the incubator speaks.

"Alex! You're awake!"
