(thoughts are in bold)

*ding*

you hopped out of the shower, almost slipping on the wet tiles underneath you.

you checked your phone, not expecting thomas to already have your flight information ready for you.

wow. this is really happening.

after taking a screen shot of what thomas sent to you, you respond to him.

"Thank you so much! I'm excited!"

you let your hair down from the towel and start to brush through it.

walking back into your room, you decide to make a tik tok.

after making it, you post it and to no surprise, it gets 20k likes in under a minute.

you go back and look at the flight information that thomas sent to you.

7 am.

my flight leaves at 7 am.

you set your alarm for 4 am, to make sure you are in no rush to get to the airport.

you lay there, so many thoughts rushing through your head.

out of everything you were thinking about, there was one thing you just couldn't get out of your mind.

vinnie hacker.

by the time you fell asleep, it was 11:30.

*time skip to 4 am.*

you woke up to the sound of your alarm and the anxiety immediately kicked in.

today's the day. today is the day that my life will change forever.

walking over to the bathroom, you do your normal morning routine.

your stomach starts to growl so you go downstairs.

not expecting her to be there, you see your mom standing by the kitchen counter with a warm cup of coffee in her hand.

"today's the big day."

"yeah."

you nervously laughed, and your mom could tell.

"you'll be fine. this is an amazing opportunity for you and i'm so sure that it's going to work out in your favor."

"i hope so."

you open up the fridge and squint your eyes due to the light.

"they should really make fridges not so bright for people in the morning."

your mom laughs and walks around the kitchen counter.

she wraps her arms around you and you lean your head into her.

i'm going to miss her.

although it's just a weekend, you aren't ever apart from your mom so those two days feel like forever to you.

it's always been you and her.

ever since your dad died from suicide, she's all you have left.

taking out the orange juice, you pour yourself a glass and grab a muffin.

you take two bites, but nausea takes over your body.

"that's all you're going to eat?"

"just a little nervous. i'm sure i'll eat something at the airport."
