Milagro

My ink was grey, my paper was white, and my story faded.
My notebook was worn out, I needed a new cover, but what was the point?
I tried to not care, I was jaded.

Monochromatic pages, numb days, meaningless words,
Then there was a chance encounter, a stroke of serendipity.
You waltzed into my life, with a big smile and it was a clash of two worlds.

Greys and whites turned into warmer hues,
Like someone splashed buckets of paint of a bright orange,
It was just perfect how my dull greys complimented your vibrant blues.

When your darker pink mixed with my baser white,
Like a string of experiments on a painter's palette,
The result was a pretty baby shade, although it did take a while.

It was a small miracle, but as you say, we were destined,
The universe moved for us, the heavens worked hard,
We were never close, yet fate never resigned.

I'm glad she didn't, or you wouldn't meet your only Sun,
I'm grateful for every little thing that ever happened,
Every asteroid that struck this world that led to one beautiful phenomenon.

Because 16 years ago, a miracle took place.
On that day, the clouds moved apart to let the light reach her,
And everyone knew she would be the person to amaze.

We reached each other, now let's hold hands,
Let's walk to the place where the sky touches the earth, together,
And let's hold this precious friendship close to our hearts, even though no one understands.

Happy birthday Harley249quinn
