Once upon a time, in a small kingdom, near the edge of the woods, lived a wealthy woman with her only child and beloved son. The woman's husband had died three years after their son was born, so the young boy grew up doing most of the housework, no matter how much his mother protested. The woman, when the young boy was eight years old, remarried to an equally wealthy man with two sons from a previous marriage.

But, a year later, the mother died, leaving our young hero in the grasp of the wicked man. Now, the young man, dubbed 'Cinderell', worked as a scullery maid for his stepfather, Lord Tremanie, his stepbrothers André and Dresele. And, their dog, Lucy. Cinderell would live like this until his nineteen birthday, the same as Princess Charming.

-10 years later-
A handsome young man in rags is seen in bed, his sun colored hair splayed all over the pillow. A few birds fly in and notice the sleeping young man. They fly over and woke the man. He moaned and flipped the pillow onto his head. The birds chirped until he finally lifted his head and waved them away. He sat up and sighed, staring wistfully out at the castle. The birds chirped in his ears and the smile he had faded, "You know, you ruined a perfectly good dream." They chirped in confusion.
"I can't tell you! Then it won't come true!" He hummed a bit and started to sing lightly, (in a mans voice) "A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartache, whatever you wish you keep. No matter how your heart is beating... If you keep on believing... The dream you wish will come true.." Cinderell gets up and reveals being in ripped pajamas and yet he smiles. (I can't imagine how) He shoos away the female mice and the male mice help him dress and clean.

Soon, Cinderell quietly went to his stepfather a room and got Lucy. Lucy was stubborn at first, but soon came down and exited the room. Cinderell and Lucy made their way downstairs and to the barn area, where Cinderell laid down a bowl of food and water for Lucy. He, then, went to wake up his old cat, Brianna. Brianna was dreaming of something, most likely chasing the dog away and live happily ever after. She woke up and smiled sleepily at Cinderell.
"Did you have a nice dream?" Brianna nodded, still half asleep.
"Did you chase the cat away?" Brianna nodded again, smiling wider.
"That's not good." Brianna stopped smiling and looked down in shame.
"Treat Lucy as if she were family, even if it's the bad side." Cinderll slipped on some clogs and went outside to feed the animals. Since Lord Tremaine had numerous debts, they could only feed the animals cheese. Little did Cinderell know, this day would change his life forever, just starting with a small piece of cheese and three overly ring bells.
