Leo POV

"So which Divine Beast are we going to first?" Percy asked, petting Sapphira.

"Vah Rudania." Zelda said, pointing to the volcano spewing lava.

"Since it's so hot there on Death Mountain, everyone 'cept me will have to drink a fireproof elixir so they won't burst into flames." Daruk explained.

I grinned as an idea popped into my head.

"Let's go!" I said eagerly, urging Splinter forward.

.

I knew that my moment was coming as we got closer to the mountain over the next few days and the air got hotter.

When the time came to drink the elixir, my heart was beating with excitement. I couldn't wait to see the look on their faces!

I pretended to drink the elixir, actually dumping it out.

Nico POV

I narrowed my eyes at Leo. I could tell that he was up to something.

It obviously had to do with the fact that we were going to a volcano.

"He's up to something." I whispered to Will.

"What?" He whispered back.

"Leo. He's making his 'up to something' face."

"I'm pretty sure that's just his face."

Will handed me a glass bottle with a gray liquid inside.

"No way am I drinking that." I said.

"You have to. Doctors orders."

"Fine." I sighed, downing it in one swallow.

As we continued, the air got hotter and hotter until I felt like I was going to catch on fire.

Hopefully the elixir worked.

I looked back at Leo. He wasn't even trying to hide the grin on his face.

"What's he up to?" I mumbled.

"Just let him be." Will said. "Let him have fun once in a while."

Just then Leo burst into flames.

The princess, Link, and the champions immediately started screaming and running around, looking for the nearest hot spring so they could pour water on the burning Leo.

The demigods, of course, remained unfazed.

"Help us!" Zelda shouted. "Your friend is burning and you don't seem to care!"

"He does this all the time." Percy said. "He's fireproof."

I realized that Leo was in hysterics, laughing like a crazy person.

I picked up a rock and threw it at him.

It hit him on the head and for some reason I thought of Jason.

I pushed the thought away as Leo extinguished the flames around him.

The champions, Zelda, and Link seemed really relieved, but Annabeth was angry.

"Leo." She said in a tone that would've made a full grown adult cower in fear.

I expected Annabeth to yell at him but his name is all she had to say. Leo backed off.

"Just having fun." He mumbled.

I knew Annabeth wasn't that mad at Leo. She was just trying to scare him.

I could tell by the look in Percy's eyes that he was trying not to laugh in fear of Annabeth yelling at him too.

"Shall we continue?" Zelda asked, clearly miffed that Leo would scare her like that.

Percy nodded. "Yes."

Will took my hand and we continued up the path.
