When I arrived at my dorm, the first thing that I noticed while walking in was that Mina turned her music down. The next thing that I noticed was a bird-man standing over my bed, looking at something on it. "What do you want?"

He turned around slowly, smiling at me sweetly. "Hey, Mavis! How are you doing?" I scowled at him and walked up to my bed, checking my phone. Someone that I didn't save in my contacts called me... Weird.

Letting that matter slip down my head, I looked up to the hero and let my phone fall back on my bed face down. "Oh, I don't know my sweet little birdie! I was in the hospital because I was attacked the same night you told me to stay save! What a coincidence, wasn't it?" I gave him a closed eye smile, sarcasm lacing my happy and enthusiastic voice.

His smile immediately fell. "Was it bad?"

"I endured worse, you know that." I eyed him before going to my closet, picking out fresh clothes to wear when I go to Kirishima's dorm.

"The only thing that is nagging inside my head is why you didn't do anything, Hawks." I turned around with potential pajamas and gave him a smile that didn't reach my eyes. "But we all need to trust heroes, right? They know the best."

Silence fell between us. I was holding back my words, just like he tried to do. I don't know why he didn't tried to defend himself. Try to explain why he did it. But inside my head, I knew why he didn't do anything against it. And I really didn't need to hear the explanation come from his mouth.

I don't know what I would do if my thoughts get proven correct with his words, but I don't think I could ever look him in the eyes again.

He is someone I shouldn't have trusted from the start. What was I thinking when a hero just sat casually besides me? A vigilant. No one of the heroes, other than the ones from U.A. knew that I signed a contract with Nezu. So they still had the order to take me to the police.

He didn't do that, that day. And the other days following. And he knew who I was even without me saying a single word about it.

I was so stupid. So fucking stupid.

A target is what I am to him. An easy one in his eyes.

"Have you ever had the thought to protect me from them, Keigo?" He gulped hard and looked at me pleadingly. "Was I ever something worth to you to protect? Or just a bait? A target because of my quirk?" When he averted his gaze to somewhere else I let loose a bitter laugh.

Typical.

My bitter laugh turned into a fit of laughter. Then a hysterical one. I cramped to the side, clutching my stomach and letting the clothes fall to the ground. Hawks stepped forward but I raised my hand and he reluctantly stayed were he was standing.

After I composed myself, wiping away the couple of tears that had fallen down my face, I turned to Hawks and sighed loudly. "You know, I always liked to think that if you gave a nothing power, they would develop a god complex. Give someone responsibility and they will run away from their mistakes. Show kindness and only evil prevails. Trust someone..." I eyed him up and down. "And they will use it against you."

"I never used your trust against you," he whispered. "And you were always worth to protect."

I smiled. More lies...

"Tell that my new scar."

The heavy silence was cut short from someone calling me. Strolling to my bed slowly, I looked at the caller ID. Someone I didn't save in my contacts. Maybe the one that called me earlier.

"Leave." Was what I said before answering the call. Hawks didn't even wait another second before flying off and leaving the balcony door open.

"Hello?"

"Hey Mavis! Sorry to bother you this late, it's Fuyumi." I went outside, sitting down on a chair that I placed on my balcony and looked to the forest. "It's alright. Did something happen?"

"No, other than what happened to my dad everything is quite fine." I nodded even though I knew that she couldn't see it. "I actually wanted to ask you if you want to come for dinner tomorrow? Shoto will be here, too."

"Is there any special occasion why I'm being invited to the Todorokis?" Why I in the first place? She only met me once.

"Our dad will be out from the hospital tomorrow and I thought that we would need another spirit on the table," I turned her on speaker and leaned my head back, looking up to the stars. "Ouhhh," I chuckled shortly. "I'm sorry, but dining with Endeavor doesn't really sound appealing to me." She sighed.

"I understand. To Natsuo and Shoto, too. That's why I'm inviting you over. You have great influence over Shoto, and maybe to Natsuo, too?"

"I have a great influence over Todoroki? Me?"

"Believe it or not, when I was visiting my mother with Natsuo she told us about you. How Shoto talked about you and what you did for him," I furrowed my brows. What did I do? I can't remember doing something that had an influence over him...

"And he dropped your name here and there when we were talking, which isn't very often." Now I was scowling in concentration. What did I do?????

"I uhmm..."

"You don't have to come. I don't want to pressure you. It just really means a lot to me if you would come."

"Ugh, now you are guilt tripping me.."

"Does it work?"

I clicked my tongue.

"Yes it does."
