We slowly made our way up the line, and I could feel my excitement rising. I was getting giddier by the moment, which made Ashton smile.
"We're almost there," he laughs, assuringly.
"I just can't wait," I chuckle.
We finally made our way to the front, and my nerves finally calmed down. It was now time to be professional!
"Hi there—," I look at her name tag "—Ms. Brown, my friend Ashton, and I would like one one of the internship sign up sheets. We have our resumes here!"
I go into my purse, and pull out our resumes, and hand it to the lady with a smile. She completely ignores me, and focused her attention onto Ashton.
"So what position are you interested in," she says, twirling her hair.
"Statistician," he says. "We have our resumes here, hopefully you can put in a good word for us," he says with a forced smile.
"Of course!" She exclaims.
She grabs our resumes, and hands us two application sheets to sign out. She hands Ashtons his with a smile, and mine with an annoyed look.
I take the paper with a plastered smile, and say thank you. I know she was being rude, but you just gotta kill em' with kindness.
I huff as I take a seat at one of the gathering areas.
Ashton's eyes smile at me as he takes a seat as well.
"Well that was awkward," he says.
"I know right! I literally just asked for applications, and she was being so rude. At least she was nice to you though," I laugh, punching Ashtons arm softly.
"What can I say, I'm a ladies man," he winks.
"Whatever," I laugh.
We begin to fill out our applications. They asked basic questions like what your strengths were, what experience you have working in a job like this, and more.
