Chapter 4 - Help out with a side of admiring

It took Ellie a couple of minutes before she decides to get out of the car. Once outside she immediately goes inside the workshop on which the smell of freshly carved wood and metal welcomes her in

-"Ellie....am I glad to see you here" John said walking towards Ellie. The man was wearing a plaid longsleeve shirt matched with his worker pants and apron together with his gloves and safety goggles

John hugs the redhead and afterwards pats her shoulder

-"I've been told that you would be glad to see me here" Ellie responded as he follows John through the mess of the workshop
-"Sorry there ain't a lot to explore in here just wood after wood after metal after metal and things that needs repair" John said giving the redhead an apologetic look
-"No no...I don't mind at all....where are the others?" Ellie asked looking around for people to help John
-"Well I only have two companions here...which is Greg and Henry but I sent them off early..they deserve it" John answered
-"I can help you out here if you want" Ellie offered
-"You sure?....I mean I don't want Joel to think that I'm forcing you to work here" John said as he looks around the whole warehouse full of things that needs repair
-"Please....Joel worked here too....plus I happen to learn a thing or two about repairing so yeah....I'm totally down" Ellie said

John hesitated for a bit but decided to accept the offer

-"Well then....let me just grab you something for your safety" John said pointing at Ellie and disappearing

A few moments more Jacob comes back with a pair of gloves, an apron and a safety goggle and hands them over to Ellie on which the redhead declines before removing her flannel and hoodie

-"how about we practice for the play tomorrow" Astrid suggested

Dina and her friends just finished watching 5 movies and they were now talking about the play Jackson was having next month

-" Oh no....I can't...promised Ellie I'd give her a trip around Jackson tomorrow" Dina said making her friends look at her with a teasing stare
-" Stop with that" Dina said
-" Stop what?" Mikaela said as she smiles clearly playing dumb
-"Whatever....what time is it?" Dina asked as she searches Sam's room to find a clock
-"About  10:30 pm" Sam answered
-"That's my cue....I gotta go" Dina said standing up
-"Where are you going?" Bonnie asked as she stoods up also
-"Home...promised mom I'd help her in the kitchen" Dina answered
-"Let me give you girls a ride then" Sam said

The girls got out into Sam's room and proceeded to go to his truck a moment later Sam got out with his key

-"I'm just giving them a ride back home Henry" Dina heared Sam say as he got out of the garage door
-"Drive safe" She heared Henry say

Once inside the truck Sam started the engine and drove off

-"Hi mom...sorry I was a little late" Dina greeted once inside the house
-"No dear it's fine...your father called earlier....told me he was coming home late tonight" Her mother said as Dina walks over to the sink to wash her hands
-"Why?" Dina sked now approaching the her mother and helping her to chop some of the ingredients that they'll need in cooking
-"Well he told me Ellie's been helping him repair one of the equipment sent in the workshop earlier.....told me Ellie offered some help and now they're working together" Her mom answered

Dina's mind went blurry as she imagines Ellie working at the workshop with her muscles flexing with every movement the redhead takes and the sweat travelling down the redhead's forehead down to her neck

-"Now...now...Dina focus....we still need to cook...and you have to bring food for Ellie and your father" Dina's mother interrupted making Dina snap back to reality and giving her mom an apologetic look
