Chapter 2 - Catching up

Dina was waiting impatiently on the couch the show she was watching ain't helping either as she kept looking back at the window with every car passing by she hoped it'll park infront of their drive way and then a greyish metallic jeep stopped over and Dina's heart beats faster she never felt this kind of feeling for 3 years now and she ain't gonna lie if she only felt it when she and Ellie are talking. It took about a few minutes before the driver steps out of the car and it didn't disappoint as a tall auburn haired woman went into view and Dina's heart was screaming her smile wasn't unbearable anymore. Ellie was wearing a royal blue polo shirt with all three buttons buttoned up matched with denim jeans and ever the same black and white converse which on Dina's guess is brand new. Her hair was tied in a half bun while the muscles on her biceps where visible enough for Dina to notice.

-" Mom.....Ellie's here" Dina said excitingly as she raced towards the kitchen to see his mother preparing one of her and Ellie's favorite food to eat
-" Where's dad?" Dina asked
-" I'm here" Dina's father said as he comes in the kitchen then a knock was heard
-" I'll go open it" Dina said as she exited the kitchen and went over to the front door

Dina takes a deep breath before she opens the door

-" Hi" Dina said smiling shyly at her now way taller friend
-" H-hi" Ellie answers as she placed a hand behind her neck which Dina notices Ellie's signature stance when she's nervous
-" come in" Dina said as she stands aside letting Ellie in
-" Uh...thanks" Ellie said as she walks in a second later both Dina's parents comes in
-" Ellie....you're here" Dina's mother said as she made her way over to Ellie giving the taller woman a hug
-" Look at you..you've grown up so much...you're so tall" Dina's mother complimented as Ellie let's out a breathy laugh
-" Thank you Mrs. Abelman" Ellie responded as she looks at Dina's mother then to her father who lends out a hand on which Ellie quickly shakes and Dina's father pulled Ellie into a hug
-" Cherry's right you've changed from the last time I saw you" Dina's father said and Ellie smiles
-" Well....the food is ready...Ellie I'm sure you're hungry" Dina's mother said as she makes her way to the kitchen
-" Starving" Ellie replied and Dina's father placed a hand on Ellie's shoulder
-" Then let's all eat and catch up yeah?" Dina's father said and Ellie smiled and nods along

Dina watches the whole interaction the same smile from earlier never leaving her face as both her parents leave the living room and on to the kitchen Ellie was about to follow them but stopped as she looks at Dina who was still standing beside the door

-" Uhm...you coming?" Ellie asked as she points her two thumbs on the way to the kitchen as Dina snaps back to reality as she blinks rapidly
-" Uhm yeah yeah c'mon mom made our favorite" Dina said smiling as she walks past Ellie
-" I bet she did" Ellie said and followed Dina towards the kitchen

Once in the kitchen the two sat down. Ellie sits next to Dina and the food was served

-" How's everything in Nashville Ellie?" John asked starting the conversation as Ellie takes a spoonful of the food
-" Everything's alright Mr. Abelman.....The food is delicious Mrs. Abelman" Ellie answers then compliments the dish
-" Thank you.....I'm glad you still liked it and please it's Cherry and John for you no need to be so formal Ellie" Dina's mother said and chuckled while Ellie nods
-" By the way how's Sarah?" Dina's mother added
-" Busy as always.....she's been working non stop on that music company Tommy and Maria owns" Ellie answered as Dina with her parents nods along
-" Anything new here?" Ellie asked
-" Pretty much the same but if you want to see the whole community Dina can help you with that" Dina's father answered and Ellie looks at her friend, Dina however gave Ellie a smile
-" Yep...just tell me when" Dina answered and Ellie nods
-" That'd be great" Ellie said
-" So where's Joel and Tess?" Dina's father asked
-" They're taking a trip on Ireland.....for 6 months" Ellie answered smile never leaving her face
-" Believe me...when Joel called and said you'd be back here...I was excited especially our daughter right here" Dina's mother registered and Ellie amusingly looks at Dina and the brown eyed girl can feel her cheeks burn
-" Me too....I missed you guys" Ellie said finishing her food
-" So how long would you be staying here Ellie?" Dina asked
-" Well....I don't know....Joel said I can stay for as long as I want to" Ellie said and Dina felt more excited
