"Don't you think you were gruesome?",
She puffed out a ring of smoke, grooving to the uncanny rhythm of the beat.
"I don't.", He smirked back, rubbing the inconsiderate palms.
The chilling weather and the cool breeze along the Marine Drive were enough to calm them down.
"Don't you feel sorry?", She stuttered, gulping in a lungful of air.
"Sorry? Yes. To have fallen again. Harder this time.", He smiled, with eyes twinkling, emanating exuberance.
"It's about her?", she whispered, her inner demons grumbling to the ill effect of the incorrigible heart.
"It's about you.", He whispered back, softly kissing her flushed cheeks.
"It had always been like that.", He murmured, that went unheard.
But the rustling leaves and the roaring waves did hear it.
Weren't they going to convey it to her?
They were back where they had been years back.
Marine Drive.
But life wasn't the same anymore.
