Allura's breath hitched as she gazed at the unmoving body of who used to be Takashi Shirogane. "I-It didn't work" She cried out removing her incredibly pale hands away from his head. "It didn't work" She whispered as her sobs rang threw the plain they had been sitting on "W-We failed" she cried shaking as she fumbled to her feet before hitting the ground once more shock overwhelming the princess. Coran sunk to his knees and engulfed Allura in a warm hug but neither of them could keep there eye's off the body in front of them. or the paladin sitting beside it.
Lance felt tears brew in his eyes. I failed. he thought to himself as sobs racked out of his chest. Lance's knee's buckled and hit the ground next to Keith. "I failed" He whispered. "He tried to contact me a-and I failed! I wasn't strong enough for it to w-work" Lance's voice cracked and the palms of his hands shook as he grabbed onto the grass in an attempt to stabilize himself. "I-I'm Sorry" He whispered as he turned towards Keith. but Keith didn't seem to notice. he sat there on his knees. holding Shiro's body in his arms his head bowed. "Keith B-Buddy" Lance whispered as he moved closer to him.
"T-There's got to be something" Keith whispered back to lance. his voice was hoarse and sounded heart broken. It made Lance want to cry harder. "W-we have to T-there's got to be another way"
"Keith. we can't do anything. It's over" Lance chocked out a sob and his whole body shook as he spoke "Shiro's gone."
"H-he can't be" Keith argued "We can't give up! There's got to be a way. Somehow! We have to save him."
"Keith there's nothing we can do" Hunk whispered as he shuffled over his face tear stained and his whole entire body shook as he kneeled on the ground with Lance. "You've got to let go" He whispered.
"I- Maybe we can try again? or something we can't just give up. w-we have to save him" Keith whispered defiantly.
"You can't save everyone." Pidge whispered sitting next to Hunk.
"W-we have to try!"
"we did Keith. We tried and we failed." Lance whispered as he gently reached out and grabbed Keith's right arm. Hunk grabbing his left on the other side as Pidge slowly set Shiro's head down on the grass.
"We h-have to try something!!" Keith exclaimed loudly trying his best to pull out of both Lance and Hunk's grips nearly kicking lance in the gut. "We can't just give up!!"
"Were not giving up" Hunk whispered as he pulled Keith back another foot. and another till they were far away from the body.
"Were just letting go" Lance finished wrapping both arms around The red paladin. Hunk doing the same seconds later. Keith stopped struggling after a few moments letting out a sob into Lance's shoulder.
"It'll be okay" Pidge whispered hand in hand with Allura and she reached them joining the group hug seconds later.
"We'll be okay"
