NAIRA

" Aren't you ready yet? How long!" I heard a rough masculine voice knocking at the door.

Hurry up Naira! You need to escape.

I removed the screws of the huge window panel carefully without making noise.

" This should do... Naira ready? " Aditi asked as she tied two long ropes from the window railing that ran parallel all the way down the building.

" yeah... Where is Dhruv?" I asked as I held on to one of the ropes.

" He is waiting for us in the entrance. Now hold on to the rope tightly and slide down... Let's elope from the wedding babes! " she winked at me before sliding down.

God! This girl can never be serious!

" Save my bones. " I whispered to myself before sliding down the rope.

I landed on the ground on my back.

Argh... It aches!

" Will you stop laughing and help me!?" I glared at my best friend.

" Sorry" she chuckled and helped me to stand on my feet.

" I hate this bridal outfit! Damn it's too heavy..." I cursed as I held the fleets of my long lehenga before running towards the entrance.

" Come on ladies! Jump in fast..." Dhruv waved at us from his jeep.

He gave me a hand and I smiled at him thankfully. He helped me settle on the passenger seat beside him as Aditi jumped into the back seat.

" The bride isn't here..."

" She is missing!! How come? you idiots! Search her!! "

Oh, No!

" Hurry up girls! " Dhruv started the engine and we drove away. I heaved a sigh of relief as the goons were no longer in our sight. Aditi and Dhruv smiled at me as I relaxed on my back.

Aditi and Dhruv are my best friends and even more. They are the only family I ever had after my parents died in a car accident when I was 5.

Dhruv and Aditi are siblings, he being 2 years older than me and Aditi. Dhruv's father, Mr. Dixit was my dad's best friend. After my parents death, I grew up in their house, with them. They embraced me from the very first day. We went to school together, did our graduation in same college, basically we were together in everything, be it pulling a prank or crying in each other's arms.

Their mother, Mrs. Dixit died giving birth to Aditi, she had never seen her mother. She loves her brother a lot, so does he. They fight over little things but always stood by each other. Mr. Dixit was a gem of a person, loved me like his daughter, treated all three of us equally. Imagine who would care for a friend's daughter like this. Whatever I am today, it's because of them!

I am an architect. Basically I love sketching and that led me into this profession. Aditi is an interior designer. She does amazing decors honesty.

Dhruv is the CEO of a leading firm, Marco Architects and Designers, that's where we work. After Mr. Dixit's death three years ago, Dhruv took over the CEO post and I must say, he is doing an amazing job!

Uncle's death was a great loss for us. It was difficult to get over the fact that he was no more, specially Aditi being her father's dear one, cried for months. But then we had to accept the reality and life moved on.

" Naira, did you talk to the lawyer? What did he say?" Dhruv questioned me.

" yeah... He said I need to get married... Umm.. before I turn 24...." I said nervously.
