twenty-eight (pt 2)

"Car Car, time to get up buddy" I cooed to my four-year-old. Taylor was sitting opposite of me, rubbing Carter's back. It was the ripe time of 6:00 am so we knew waking Carter up would be difficult,

"We have to wake up so we can go see Pooh and Tigger," Taylor told him. He was instantly awake and full of energy,

"Come on" he jumped off the bed, running to the chair where Taylor had his clothes laid out. He tried pulling his pjs off but he was too happy to focus so he started struggling. I finally got up and helped him change, putting on his black shorts, Pooh and Tigger shirt, and his tennis shoes. Taylor and I both wore Winnie the Pooh shirts too. Carter's request was that we match. So here I am in a Tigger shirt while my girlfriend is wearing a Pooh one.

Taylor took Carter to brush his teeth and I got our backpack ready- sunscreen, extra clothes for Carter, money, a sweatshirt for Carter, hand sanitizer, wipes, and Carter's stuffed Pooh and Tigger.

"Okay! Let's go!" Carter ran out and bounced by the door,

"We're going to eat breakfast first," I told him, tossing the bag on my back and leading my little crew out the door.

As soon as we got off the bus at Magic Kingdom, Carter tried to run off. Thankfully, my reflexes were fast and I grabbed him, pulling him back and kneeling down in front of him,

"You DO NOT run off" I spoke sternly, "Buddy, there are a lot of people here and me and Mommy don't want you to get lost"

"Carter, you have to hold mine or Daddy's hand at all times," Taylor told him. Carter's lip startled to tremble,

"Hey, there's no need to cry. We are just telling you" I soothed, hugging him. He nodded and rubbed his eyes as I stood up. He took both mine and Taylor's hands and we walked to the entrance. 

We scanned our magic bands and headed inside. Carter was in awe as soon as we walked in. We got a family picture in front of the castle then went to Tomorrowland. As soon as Carter saw the Buzz Lightyear ride, he was dragging us to it and we got in line. The real test today was seeing how Carter would do standing in long lines.

Taylor leaned back against my chest, my arms circling her as Carter was hanging all over the rails. He hasn't complained yet but we still had all day to go.

We got to the front and got into our cart. Carter sat on Taylor's lap. I had my own lazer while they shared,

"Okay, we have to shoot the targets" Taylor explained to him, "And we have to beat Daddy"

"We'll see" I smirked.

We got through the ride and I indeed did win and I made sure Taylor and Carter knew,

"You only won because you cheated" Carter pouted and held his arms up for me to pick him up. I swiftly lifted him and sat him up on my shoulders as he held my head,

"We should've brought a stroller" Taylor laughed and nudged me, considering it was me who said we wouldn't need it.

We hit a few more rides before we made it to where Carter was dying to go- the Pooh ride. Pooh and Tigger were doing meets and pictures right next to it,

"Let's go on the ride first then we will go meet Pooh and Tigger" Taylor told him as she pulled him off my shoulders. Taylor took Carter's picture in front of Pooh's treehouse then we got in line.

As soon as we got on, Carter could not stop smiling. He was loving this.

"That was so cool!" he bounced as we exited into the shop. I already had my credit card pulled out because I knew we were going to be getting stuff, but that was perfectly okay,

"Mommy, Daddy, can I gets Eeyore and Piglet? I don't have them" Carter asked, lightly tugging my hand. We nodded and he picked the ones he wanted out then looked around some more before he gasped and pointed to something. When I looked, I laughed and grabbed it. It was a Pooh bucket hat,

"I think Uncle Cal will like that" Taylor laughed as she guided him to check out before he could grab more things.

We got in line for Pooh and Tigger so I got Carter's stuffed animals out. Since we were just seeing Pooh and Tigger, he handed me Eeyore and Piglet to hold.

When it was our turn, we walked Carter up, but he immediately tucked himself into Taylor's legs, going all shy. But the characters were really good about it. Tigger walked right up and bent down to Carter, pointing to the stuff Tigger. Carter giggled and slowly pulled away from Taylor,

"Hi" he waved shyly and showed them his stuffed animals,

"You wanna take your picture with them?" I asked. He nodded and stood between them, holding his Pooh and Tigger and smiling big.

After I took it, Carter hugged them then bounced to Taylor and I with a big smile,

"That was so cool wasn't it" I smiled,

"That was awesome" Carter nodded,

"How about we get some dinner then we will ride some more rides and watch the fireworks" Taylor picked him up since he was already falling behind.

After dinner, Carter was in a mood. He hasn't napped so that was probably part of it plus he woke up early. But, we got him on a few more rides then we found a spot to sit to watch the fireworks.

As soon as they ended, we got on the bus to the hotel. Carter was out within seconds,

"He was so happy to see Pooh and Tigger" Taylor grinned, "Just imagine how he's going to be when he sees Woody"

"I know" I laughed, "This might be one of the best vacations I've been on and it's only been two days"
