XVIII

Short Chapter

10:30am

Severus rolled over to the side and opened his eyes, expecting to see your beautiful face but instead came face to face with an empty pillow., he jolted up and frantically looked around the room., "Y/n?".

Did she leave already? She couldn't have

He got up, quickly dressed himself, ran over to the bathroom door and started knocking, panicking a little., "Y-Y/n?"., you noticed the panic in his voice so you turned off the shower, wrapped the towel around yourself and opened the door.

"Sev? What's wrong?"., he let out a sigh of relief and ran his fingers through his hair., "I'm sorry, I-I just, I thought you left"., you tucked the towel in, stood on your tippy toes and kissed his forehead, lovingly.

He put his hands on the back of your thighs and picked you up., you wrapped your arms and legs around him and he wrapped his arms around your waist., "darling, why can't you stay?"., "I'm sorry, Sev"., he sighed in sadness.

"Where do you live?"., "okay so there are a number of apartments near King's Cross Station, but there is only one brick apartment and that's the one I live in, it's six stories high, I live on the fourth floor, 4A"., he nodded, hugged you tighter and nuzzled his head into your neck.

"I'm going to miss you, Y/n"., "I'm going to miss you too, love"., he smiled, leaned in closer until your lips brushed each other's., a knock at the door pulled you away from each other., he kissed your forehead and put you down.

"Can you get that, I have to get dressed"., he smiled and nodded., you grabbed the white collared shirt, white skirt and green sweater you placed out earlier and ran into the bathroom. Severus opened the door to reveal Minerva with two gifts in her hand.

"Sev, who is it?"., before Severus could answer Minerva called out: "it's Minerva, dear. May I come in?"., "of course, I'll be out in a moment"., Severus stepped to the side, allowing her to come in., she shot a friendly smile Severus' way and walked in.

You walked out of the bathroom and shot a smile at her, you saw she had presents in her hand and your anxiety started creeping up on you., "here are you, dear"., she grabbed the present off the top and handed it over to you, passing the other one to Severus.,

You's sat down on the bed and ripped open the red and green coloured wrapping paper, revealing a photo of the both of you, wrapped in each other's arms.

Flashback

It was a beautiful clear night, moonlight shining through the clouds and owls hooting in the distance., you and Severus are out for a late night walk., he looked at you and you looked back at him, your eyes were basically shining in the moonlight., "darling, I know there is no music but would you like to share a dance?".

You smiled, turned to face him, stood on your tippy toes and wrapped your arms around his neck., he pressed his forehead against yours, wrapped his arms around your waist and you both started softly swaying.

Severus looked at the photo and tears brimmed his eyes as he saw how happy he looked with you., he quickly wiped his eyes and cleared his throat., "I remember that night, I thought I saw a flash"., he grumbled.

"Severus!"., you whisper yelled., he looked at you and Minerva interjected: "it's okay dear"., you looked at her and sighed., "thankyou Minerva, I apologise but I haven't gone Christmas shopping yet"., she gave you a reassuring smile.

"No no it's okay dear, I don't expect anything back, it was an incredibly sweet moment that I just had to get a photo of"., Severus nodded and gave her a small smile., "thankyou, Minerva"., "well dear, I best get going, I do hope you enjoy your holiday".

You smiled and waved., "you too"., as soon as Minerva left you looked at the clock and jolted up., "I've got to go"., he stood up, slid the photo in his clothes and walked over to your two bags and picked them up.

Once Severus gave your bags to the man he looked at you and saw you looking around excitedly., "I've never been on the Hogwarts Express before, I'm so excited!"., you clapped your hands together and even though he was sad to see you leave he couldn't help but smile.

The train whistle went, telling the wandering students on the platform that it was time to board., Severus pulled you towards him, wrapped his arms around you and pecked your forehead, lingering there for as long as possible, not wanting to let you go.

The students on the train stuck their heads out the window and watched the both of you with interest, shocked to see his soft side., "I'll come visit you soon, darling"., he finally took his arms off you, you stood on your tippy toes and kissed his cheek., "I'll see you soon, my love".
